Dokonano oceny aktualnego potencjału usługowego, jakim dysponują jednostki, wykorzystania oraz zmian w strukturze świadczonych usług i usługobiorców. Stwierdzono m. in. iż aktualnie w obsłudze transportowej gospodarstw rolnych znacznie zmniejszył się zakres usług świadczonych przez jednostki uspołecznione na rzecz prywatnych firm transportowych, a w strukturze usługobiorców znacznie przeważa transport pozarolniczy. Spadek w ostatnich latach ilości ładunków przewiezionych usługowo jest wynikiem wzrostu wyposażenia w środki transportowe oraz wysokiej ceny usług transportowych. Nadal w obsłudze transportowej gospodarstw rolnych najpoważniejszym przewoźnikiem są istniejące jednostki uspołecznione.

Actual condition of transport services on the rural areas was considered on an example of selected service units localized in the region of southern Poland. Actual servicing potential being at disposal of these units and its usage were evaluated as well as the changes in structures of rendered services and service customers. It was stated that recently in transport servicing of the farms the share of services rendered by collective (cooperative) units decreased considerably for the benefit of private contractors, while non-agricultural transport strongly prevails in the structure of service customers. Reduced number of loads transported by the services within last years resulted from increasing equipment of the farms with transport services. In transport servicing of the farms the most important carrying agent are still existing collective co-operative units.

Omówiono główne działy infrastruktury technicznej obszarów wiejskich, zwracając uwagę na wskazane kierunki prac badawczych i wdrożeniowych oraz istniejące zagrożenia i trendy rozwojowe.

Paper discussed the main components of technical infrastructure on rural areas such as the energy and fuels (renewable energy sources inclusive), the network of agricultural and local public roads, land reclamation structures, water supply and waste management, building materials and structures, designs of livestock and other farm buildings as well as the farm dwelling houses. Basic directions for research and development works were pointed out as well as some limitations and development trends were indicated.
