W ostatnich latach ogromnego znaczenia dla firm nabiera zarządzanie pracownikami zagranicznymi, których liczba w Polsce wciąż rośnie. Prezentowane opracowanie dotyczy adaptacji pracowników zagranicznych i jest aktualnym tematem ze względu na powiększający się napływ siły roboczej z zagranicy. W szczególności opisane zostały metody adaptacji pracownika, w tym pracownika zagranicznego, jak również wyłoniono najbardziej problemowe obszary adaptacji cudzoziemców w miejscu pracy. Zagadnienia przedstawione w artykule obejmują swoim zasięgiem konsekwencje napływu cudzoziemców, które mają ogromną wartość dla umiędzynarodawiającego się polskiego rynku pracy.

During the past few years have faced the huge relevance of management of ever-growing number of workers from abroad in Poland. Presented paper relates to adaptation of workers from abroad. It is an actual topic due to the strengthening inflow of labour force from foreign countries. It specifically describes methods of adaptation of employees to the new workplace, including foreign workers, as well outlines most problematic fields in adaptation of foreigners to the work-place. Issues depicted in the article involve whole range of consequences of inflow of foreigners, which have an immense value for internationalization of Polish labour market.

Employees' adaptation as a critical element of human resources management – a case study

The aim of the paper was to identify factors influencing employees’ adaptation, and evaluate the process in a selected company. The present study aims at establishing answers to questions on the need for the realization of adaptation, its course, and effectiveness of adaptive actions in the assessed company. While searching for answers to such questions, a review of literature and an empirical study were conducted. In order to carry out the empirical study, a case study method was employed, which constitutes a fundamental method of qualitative studies. Research results indicate that there is applied controlled adaptation in the present company. It resulted from benefits for the newcomer and the organization as well. It was observed that both the owners and the management of the assessed company devote particular attention to supporting newcomers in swift and positive adaptation.

Artykuł porusza kwestie adaptacji i przystosowania pracownika do nowego środowiska pracy. Dokonano tu przeglądu literaturowego zagadnienia, zaprezentowano fazy procesu adaptacji, jak również jego procedurę. Zwrócono uwagę na rolę komunikacji w procesie adaptacji, jak również na najczęściej popełniane błędy.

The paper presents discussion on employee adaptation and acclimatization to a new working environment. It includes related references overview and description of the adaptation process phases and its procedure. Attention was paid to the role of communication in the adaptation process and the frequently made mistakes.
