Investigation and assessment of occupational risk on the metal cutting machine tool stand

The paper analyzes occupational risk at selected metal cutting machine tool stands (turning, milling, drilling and grinding stands) and presents a set of recommendations formulated to minimize hazards at the above mentioned stands. The assessment is based on the analysis that allowed for selecting the best method of occupational risk assessment, measurements, observations, interviews and conclusions drawn from the obtained results. Occupational risk assessment forms were devised, what allowed for selecting appropriate action to increase the safety of selected machinery operators. The guidelines were assessed in terms of their practical implementation and expected utilitarian results.

Artykuł poświęcony jest wybranym aspektom bezpieczeństwa eksploatacji urządzeń stosowanych w transporcie surowców mineralnych. Na konkretnym przykładzie przedstawiony został problem ekspozycji na hałas obsługi tych maszyn podczas ich pracy. Wyznaczono najważniejsze wskaźniki hałasu dla różnych parametrów roboczych przenośnika śrubowego podczas transportu urobku i na tej podstawie oceniono zagrożenia akustyczne podczas jego eksploatacji. Omówiono możliwości zmniejszenia tych zagrożeń oraz wyznaczono dopuszczalny czas pracy obsługi badanego obiektu.

The article concerns selected aspects of safe operation of devices applied in raw material transport. The issue of exposure to noise of operating personnel during their work was presented on a specific example. The most significant parameters of noise for different working conditions of a screw conveyor were determined. The acoustic hazard during the operation of the conveyor was evaluated on this basis. The possibilities of reduction of the hazard were discussed and the acceptable time of work of the operating personnel of the tested machine was calculated as well.
