For most types of on-load tap changers (OLTC), the working medium is insulation oil in which the acoustic wave being formed propagates to the steal tank. There exists a possibility to register acoustic emission (AE) signals with different types of sensors. AE signal obtained in such manner contains information, which describes operation of the OLTCs power tap changer and the selector.

The article presents the feasibility assessment and evaluation of technical conditions of basic structural elements of exhibition hall after the fire. The aim of this investigation was to develop the ways for further exploitation of the structure and to evaluate the extent of repairs to be done.The scope of investigation and the detailed methodology for the investigation is presented. Given is the impact of the fire load on the bearing capacity of structural elements. To asses the impact of the damages on the main load bearing beams, besides the standard tests, also the acoustic emission (AE) method was applied.
