The paper presents statistical data connected with accidents in Poland. As the main causes of these accidents the non-observance of valid regulations and incorrect action of the operators are concerned. Moreover, the influence of the nonergonomics of machines and technical devices as well as the wrong condition and psychophysical possibilities of the operators are underlined. The authors propose using simple simulation programs to selecting proper operators and to improve their abilities.
