W artykule przedstawiono dzieje i osiągnięcia Wydziału Elektrotechniki, Automatyki i Informatyki Politechniki Opolskiej, od momentu Utworzenia Wydziału – początkowo pod nazwą Wydziału Elektrycznego. Podano aktualne formy kształcenia i uprawnienia Wydziału w zakresie opiniowania wniosków profesorskich oraz prowadzenia przewodów doktorskich i habilitacyjnych. Pokazano nową strukturę organizacyjną Wydziału. Omówiono różnorodne formy współpracy Wydziału z przemysłem. Przedstawiono również bogate możliwości poszerzania swoich zainteresowań przez studentów w kołach naukowych działających na Wydziale Elektrotechniki, Automatyki i Informatyki. Podkreślono wkład Wydziału w organizowanie corocznych imprez, takich jak np. Opolskie Dni Elektryki, które odbyły się już dwudziestopięciokrotnie.

This paper presents the history, the achievements and the mission of the Department of Electrical, Control and Computer Engineering Opole University of Technology. Current curricula and authorizations of the Department are specified, in particular in terms of granting the professor titles as well as accreditations for Ph.D. and habilitation degrees. The organizational structure of the Department is presented. Both teaching and research achievements are emphasized, in particular those related to cooperation of the Department with various industries. Student research circles are also specified. It was emphasized the Department’s contribution to organization of annual performances as for example “The Electrical Days in Opole”, which took place twenty five times.

Przypomniano nazwiska wszystkich dotychczasowych dziekanów Wydziału. Podano aktualne formy kształcenia i uprawnienia Wydziału w zakresie nadawania tytułów profesorskich oraz prowadzenia przewodów doktoranckich i habilitacyjnych. Przedstawiono strukturę organizacyjną Wydziału. Omówiono różnorodne formy współpracy Wydziału z przemysłem. Przedstawiono bogate możliwości poszerzania swoich zainteresowań przez studentów w kołach naukowych działających na Wydziale Elektrotechniki i Automatyki. Podkreślono wkład Wydziału w organizowanie corocznych imprez, takich jak np. Opolskie Dni Elektryki, które odbyły się już piętnastokrotnie.

This paper presents the 45-year history, the achievements of the Faculty of Electric Engineering, Automatic Control and Computer Science of Opole University of Technology i.e. from the establishment of the Faculty - at first under the name: Faculty of Electricity. The names of the all up to the present deans of this Faculty were called to mind. The current forms of schooling and authorization of the Faculty in the sphere of granting of professor titles and organization of the postgraduate (doctoral and Ph.D.) studies were presented. The structure of Faculty was described. The various forms of cooperation with industry was shown. The article presents the great possibilities tor students to enlarge their interests in the research circles that are active at Opole University of Technology. The contribution of Faculty to the organization of the yearly events such as Opole Days of Electricity was underlined. The Opole Days of Electricity took place fifteen times.
