Wola Justowska od dawna uchodziła za najatrakcyjniejszą miejską dzielnicę willową Krakowa. W 1948 roku przeniesiono tu drewniany kościół z XVI wieku, który pierwotnie wybudowano w Komorowicach Śląskich. Spłonął w pożarze w 1978 roku. Niedługo potem został odbudowany, by w 2002 roku ponownie spłonąć. Zespół projektowy po odpowiednich analizach krajobrazowych, rozpatrzeniu wielu pomysłów odbudowy oraz lokalizacji opracował ostateczną wersję projektu. Zatwierdzono zgodnie z wolą mieszkańców odbudowę kościoła w jego pierwotnym miejscu – na Woli.

Wola Justowska has been thought od as the most attractive urban villa district of Kraków. A timber church from the XVI century that had orginally been built in Komorowice Śląskie was relocated here in the year 1948, subsequently burning down a fire in 1978 in unknown circumstances. It had been rebuilt soon after, only to be set on fire a second time in 2002. After discuting numerous ideas and locations of its reconstrucion, the desing team developed a final version of its desing, wchich festured the reconstruction of the church in its orgial location – in accordance with the will of the residents of Wola had been preceded by appriopriate landscape analyses.

Na podstawie analizy typologii i struktury zabudowy mieszkaniowej Woli Justowskiej i Olszanicy oraz poprzez wyznaczenie stref pieszej dostępności do usług (w oparciu o zasięg średniowiecznego miasta) autorzy starają się określić optymalne parametry współczesnej jednostki mieszkalnej. Jako przykład łączący w sobie pozytywne aspekty budynku jednorodzinnego oraz spełniający współczesne wymagania, co do ograniczeń prawnych i ekonomicznych posłużył budynek Das Haus, zlokalizowany przy ulicy Powstania Styczniowego w Krakowie.

Based on the analysis and typology of residential structures of Wola Justowska and Olszanica amd by designating zones of access to services within walking distance (on the basis of the range of the medieval city), the authors try to determine the optimal parameters of a contemporary residential unit. The Das Haus building, located in Powstania Styczniowego street in Cracow, was used as an example which combines the positive aspects of a single family building and meets the current legal and economic requirements

Many of ancient wooden churches are still being used for sacral functions, so that it is necessary to adapt them to new liturgical needs. Vaticanum Consilium 2 brought many essential changes in organisation of sacral interiors - it occur to be important to reserve the priest to direction of people, and also to approach and gather people around the altar. Sighting the altar became now one of the essential factors determining composition of the interior. Ornamentation may play an important role in adaptation of ancient wooden churches to new liturgies aims. It is helpful in maintaining the scale, it may emphasise elements which are important, expresses and underlines the sense of the form, provide the form with an optic balance and put in order the whole of the composition. Ornamentation unifies different arts by repeating similar motives - for example in materials and colours of the architecture and its background. Ornamentation may also play a role in maintaining the compositional and aesthetic unity between contemporary and historical forms.
