W ciągu wieków można było wyraźnie zaobserwować u polskich władców zainteresowanie architekturą jako elementem świadczącym o ich panowaniu i zamiłowaniach. W ten właśnie sposób wytworzył się między innymi tak zwany „styl Wazów”. Choć władcy zawsze czerpali inspirację z panującego ówcześnie stylu, każdy z nich wnosił do fundowanych przez siebie budynków własne, charakterystyczne rozwiązania. Jan III Sobieski, od najmłodszych lat podróżując po Europie, zdobył szerokie wykształcenie w największych ówcześnie miastach. Dzięki swoim podróżom i zamiłowaniu do sztuki i kultury kładł on szczególny nacisk na odpowiednie kształtowanie formy stawianych przez siebie budowli, zarówno budynków świeckich, jak i sakralnych. Jego niesamowita charyzma, zdolności polityczne oraz militarne w połączeniu ze starannym wykształceniem i zamiłowaniem do wzorców antycznych pozwalały jego budowniczym oraz projektantom na tworzenie prawdziwych perełek architektury.

Throughout centuries one could clearly observe among Polish rulers an interest in architecture as an element bearing to their reign and passions. Amon others, the so called “Vasa style” emerged in this way. Though monarchs always drew their inspirations from currently ruling styles, each of them introduced their own, characteristic solutions to the buildings they founded. Travelling around Europe since a very young age, Jan III Sobieski acquired extensive education in the largest cities of his time. Thanks to his travels and a passion for art and culture, he put particular emphasis on proper forms of edifi ces he had commissioned, both lay and church buildings. His unique charisma as well as political and military abilities, in combination with excellent education and a passion for antique models, allowed his builders and designers to create real architectural gems.

Krajobraz jest pojęciem, które próbowało zdefiniować już wielu. Powstało też mnóstwo typologii, które przez badaczy są pojmowane na różny sposób, np. przyrodniczy lub historyczny. Istnieją jednak pewne typy krajobrazu spinające oba te elementy. To m.in. krajobraz kulturowy.

In strategic planning documents of Warsaw long‐term social, economical and spatial development problems of the national heritage protection and revitalization is very important. It is connected with citizens needs as well as with European tendencies of city spaces planning, in which cultural and landscape values are taken into consideration in order to protect and emphasise city, regional or country identity. In both documents: the Warsaw development strategy and the study of condition and spatial development directions, there are the basic elements of the city heritage as well as the forms of protection and throwing to open to the public pointed out. A cultural park is such a new form of cultural heritage protection throwing the city heritage to open to the public. In 2004 some activities leading to Wilanów Cultural Park instituting were undertaken. The idea of Wilanów Cultural Park is to protect the Wilanów palace‐park complex, its branch noble residences in Ursynów Natolin, Gucin Gaj, Morysin, the Ursynów Scarp natural‐landscape complex, their surroundings and large‐scale landscape composition. Instituting Wilanów Cultural Park containing 1675 ha area will not only integrate elements of large‐scale Wilanów residences complex but also is going to enable better management of the area, which will cause its harmonic development.
