To rescue the lost places, place which are located out of cities limits, where appear the new living spaces, where the places lost their first functional value is crucial now. There are still "the black holes" in the spatial cultural and functional continuity of urban fabric. This problem is very important in polish cities, where a lot of spaces were demaged and waiting for renovation now. Constant reorganization of space is a typical feature of modern cities. One of very characteristic example of this problem is renovation of four historical Gasometers in Vienna. They should be preserved though, as they are a symbol for the development of the City of Vienna's infrastructure. Now a new local urban center was created as a "small town" situated 10 minutes away by subway from St. Stephen's Cathedral, the center of Vienna. There are apartments, a student hostel, an event hall, a shopping mall, a movie center.
