Feliks Pancer był wybitnym polskim inżynierem żyjącym w latach 1798–1851. Był znany ze swoich innowacyjnych i odważnych projektów w tamtych latach. Trzy spośród jego projektów zapewniły mu światowe uznanie w środowisku inżynierów. Dwa doczekały się realizacji: most nad rzeką Wieprz pod Kośminem w 1841 r. oraz wiadukt w ciągu zjazdu do Wisły w Warszawie, nazwany później imieniem projektanta.

Feliks Pancer was an prominent polish engineer living between 1798–1851. He was famous for his innovative and courageous projects in those years. Between his works, three of them provided him a worldwide recognition in the engineers society. Two of this projects were built: the bridge over the river Wieprz near Kośmin in year 1841 and the viaduct within the exit of Vistula river ni Warsaw, which was later named after its designer.

Wiadukt "Pancera", usytuowany w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie Zamku Królewskiego, został zbudowany razem z Trasą W-Z w 1949 r. Przedstawiono historię budowy oraz przyczyny złego stanu technicznego sprzed remontu. Omówiono wykonane badania i pomiary elementów konstrukcji wraz ze szczegółowym zakresem i technologią prac remontowych.

"Pancera" flyover, located in the historic part of Warsaw, in the immediate vicinity of the Royal Castle, was constructed together with Trasa W-Z route in 1949. Repair works of the load-bearing structure, the supports and the immediate surroundings of the flyover are being performed in the course of repairs and expansion of the grid of tram routes, realized by Warsaw Tram Industry in 2009. The paper presents, in brief, the description of the flyovers structure as well as the historical and technical aspects which have led to its poor technical condition. The article describes scope of the examination and measurement work preceding the design work. It also presents the scope of the completed repair works as well as some circumstances associated with the work being performed.
