Artykuł na tle opisu mechanizmu tworzenia się pustek Webera w uwarunkowaniach górniczo-geologicznych KWK „Murcki-Staszic", gdzie wystąpiły one w najbardziej klasycznej postaci, na przykładzie zdarzeń z lat 2007-2009 w polu AB tej kopalni przedstawia ich związek z nagłymi dopływami wody do prowadzonych wyrobisk.

The article describes the mechanism of the creation of Weber's voids in the mining and geological conditions of the „Murcki-Staszic" minę, where they occurred in the most classical form. The seąuential arrangement of layers over the excavation: claystone, mudstone, sandstone, favours the formation of this phenomenon, even in the conditions of poor water accumulation of the rock mass in the deposit area. The claystone in the ceiling above the longwall with caving is crushed, the mudstone, as morę rigid, bends under a thick sandstone complex, creating a huge few-centimetre thick gap into which relic waters from the overlying sandstone are sucked in. The disruption of this arrangement by mining works results in a sudden flow of water into the excavation.
