The aim of the study was to assess the importance of the factor related with work safety in enterprises from the heavy industry sector. To achieve this aim, a method was used that is based on the principles of the Toyota Production System - the BOST survey. The survey was conducted in 8 heavy industry enterprises located in the Silesian Voivodeship. The paper presents part of the research, including the analysis of one of the questions that relates to the roof of the Toyota house - elements of the enterprise mission. This question includes the concept of work safety. Additionally, the work includes an analysis of the respondents' personal characteristics. The result of the work is the determination of the place of work safety in the analyzed enterprises according to the respondents, which may serve as a guideline in activities improving processes with an emphasis on work safety.

The paper presents an analysis of an innovative method based on the principles of the Toyota Production System - BOST survey, which was carried out in 8 selected production companies from the plastics processing industry operating in the Silesian Voivodeship. Each question in the BOST survey relates to a given Toyota Rule and the Toyota House Roof. Thanks to this survey, you can learn the opinion of the surveyed employees on many areas of the functioning of a given enterprise, which may be an important hint to the operational and strategic activities of the enterprise. In the study, 1 question was selected for analysis, containing a set of factors (areas) closely related to process improvement and personal characteristics of the respondents was analyzed. The result of the work is to determine the position of quality in the continuous improvement process according to the surveyed employees and to propose improvement activities for selected companies.

The Toyotarity and BOST term was presented in the chapter. The BOST method allows to define relations between material resources and human resources and between human resources and human resources (TOYOTARITY). This term was also invented by the Author (and is legally protected). The idea of methodology is an outcome of 12 years of work.
