Jezioro Strzeszyńskie było najczystszym jeziorem w Poznaniu i jednym z najczystszych w Wielkopolsce. Otoczone lasami i podmokłymi łąkami, które stanowiły naturalną barierę przed spływem biogenów, przez wiele dziesiątków lat było ulubionym miejscem kąpieli dla tysięcy poznaniaków. Jezioro Strzeszyńskie posiada jeden naturalny dopływ zewnętrzny, jest nim Rów Złotnicki, który swój początek ma w zbiorniku retencyjnym w Suchym Lesie. Pogarszający się stan Jeziora Strzeszyńskiego rozpoczął się wraz z intensywną rozbudową mieszkaniową Jelonka i Suchego Lasu, a zwłaszcza osiedla Grzybowego, z którego ścieki sanitarne z wodami Rowu Złotnickiego docierały do jeziora. Badania wód cieku wykonane zostały w terminie 01.06.2013 r.-05.10.2013 r. w trzech stałych punktach - jeden przy ujściu ze zbiornika retencyjnego, drugi w śródlądowej części cieku, natomiast trzeci bezpośrednio przy wpływie rowu do jeziora. Wodę z cieku badano pod względem wybranych cech fizyczno-chemicznych, zawartości azotu amonowego i ortofosforanów, bowiem nadmiar tych związków wpływa na postępującą eutrofizację zbiornika wodnego. Pobrane próby wody poddane zostały analizie fotometrycznej w warunkach laboratoryjnych. Wyniki badań wskazały, że po ulewnych deszczach zawartość biogenów w Rowie Złotnickim znacznie wzrastała, co z pewnością również przyczyniło się do pogorszenia parametrów wody Jeziora Strzeszyńskiego.

Strzeszyńskie Lake was the cleanest lake in Poznan and one of the cleanest in the Wielkopolska region. Surrounded by forests and wet meadows, which formed a natural barrier against runoff of nutrients, for many decades it has been a favorite bathing place for thousands of locals. Strzeszyńskie Lake has one natural external tributary, it is the Złotnicki Trench flowing from the retention tank in Suchy Las. The deteriorating state of Strzeszyńskie Lake began with the intensive development of the housing Jelonek and Suchy Las, especially Grzybowe settlements from which sewage with Złotnicki Trench waters reached the lake. The aim was to check the amount of nutrients supply from the Złotnicki Trench to Strzeszyńskie Lake. Water samples were collected at three points of the watercourse. The first point was located directly at the outlet of the reservoir in Suchy Las - this test has provided details on the amount of nutrients flowing directly from the storage reservoir. A second attempt was charged in half the length of the watercourse, the third is directly on the impact to Strzeszyńskie Lake. The comparison of these three tests provided information about changes in the concentration of nutrients in the water along the entire length of the Złotnicki Trench, and thus it was checking whether the stream running down contains nutrients from farmland. The research was conducted from June to October 2013 at regular intervals, tests retrieved were always in the same places. Waters from the stream were tested for the selected physical and chemical characteristics, the content of ammonium and orthophosphate, because an excess of these compounds influences the progressive eutrophication of the water body. Collected water samples have been analyzed photometric under laboratory conditions. The test results indicated that after heavy rains the content of nutrients in Złotnicki Trench significantly increased, which certainly also contributed to the deterioration of the water quality of Strzeszyńskie Lake.
