W artykule przedstawiono metodologię badań wytrzymałości kolektorów słonecznych na uderzenia spowodowane gradobiciem, na podstawie zapisów obowiązującej normy krajowej PN-EN ISO 9806. Omówiono wybrane aspekty dwóch zaproponowanych w normie metod badawczych, wykorzystujących kule lodowe lub kule stalowe do symulowania uderzeń gradem. Obie metody badań poddano ocenie, wskazując na ich zalety i wady. Wskazano przy tym na problem braku korelacji między formami zniszczenia wywołanymi przez kule lodowe i stalowe, o tych samych energiach uderzenia. W tym kontekście powołano się na zapisy wycofanej normy krajowej PN-EN 12975-2 oraz opracowań o charakterze naukowo-badawczym.

The article presents the methodology of testing the resistance of solar collectors to impacts caused by hail, based on the provisions of the applicable national standard PN-EN ISO 9806. Selected aspects of the two research methods proposed in the standard, using ice or steel balls to simulate hail impacts, are discussed. Both test methods were assessed, pointing to their advantages and disadvantages. At the same time, the problem of the lack of correlation between the forms of failure caused by ice and steel balls with the same impact energies was pointed out. In this context, reference was made to the provisions of the withdrawn national standard PN-EN 12975-2 and research studies.

This paper gives an update on European standards (EN's) and European certiflcation (Solar Keymark) for solar thermal products: Solar Keymark certiflcation covers nów 80-90% of the European collector market, Strong increase in Solar Keymark for complete compact systems expected. The European Standards arę being reyised just nów to include morę systems and components types and to adapt to European Directives (CE-marking).
