Technical diagnostics is an integral part of the railway maintenance process. Through timely maintenance, in addition to ensuring the safety, functional and technical reliability of the infrastructure, maintenance costs are reduced and downtime losses, due to failures or premature repair requests, are eliminated or reduced. The track infrastructure diagnostic tools have evolved. This is related to, among others, the miniaturisation of instruments, reading accuracy during motion, as well as upgraded measurement automation and result analysis. Currently, data obtained from multifunctional diagnostic tools is the basis for the developed Russian railway infrastructure maintenance and operation digital model. The strategic development of mobile diagnostic labs is the gradual transition to solutions with advanced digital analysis, supported by artificial intelligence, monitoring and forecasting. The article presents the development of mobile labs for the railroad infrastructure condition diagnosis up to the current solutions, in which measurements take place without human intervention and the obtained information is transmitted in real time to the analysis and decision centres.

The present article is dedicated to the application of modern container tracking systems on Russian railways. It provides a brief description of the technical characteristics and the main pros and cons of such solutions as unified container numbers, barcodes, QR codes, as well as RFID and GPS container trackers.

Opisano cechy techniczne oraz główne zalety i wady istniejącej technologii, takich jak znormalizowane kontenery, Bar i QR kody, a także technologie RFID i GPS śledzenia ruchu ładunków.

The article covers the issues of the modernization of Oktyabrskaya Railway (Moscow - St. Petersburg - Helsinki) aimed at the improvement of transport and logistics infrastructure of the Russian railways. In this regard, the introduction of the following technologies was analyzed: traffic control system ALS 400, global data transmission system GSM-R Track – Train, and the upgrading of track with continuous welded rails, Pantrol-350 anchor rail fasteners for high speed railway, and point switch system retrofit.

W artykule omówiono zagadnienia związane z modernizacją Oktiabrskiej Magistrali Kolejowej (Moskwa - Petersburg - Helsinki), mających na celu poprawę infrastruktury transportowej i logistycznej rosyjskich kolei. Przeanalizowano wprowadzenie następujących technologii: system kontroli ruchu ALS 400, globalny system transmisji danych GSM-R Track oraz modernizację torów z ciągłymi spawami szyn, Pantrol-350 łączniki szynowe dla kolei dużych prędkości.

Pod koniec kwietnia 2014 r. przekazano spółce córce kolei rosyjskich (RŻD) – FPK (ros. Fiedieralnaja passażyrskaja kompania) pierwszy z zamówionych w hiszpańskiej firmie Patentes Talgo S.L. pociągów Talgo 250. Kontrakt o wartości 140 mln euro oba podmioty podpisały latem 2011 r. podczas oficjalnej wizyty prezydenta Rosji D. Miedwiediewa w Hiszpanii.
