The historical deposit of polymetallic ore in Miedzianka-Ciechanowice is located in the Rudawy Janowickie Mts. This deposit includes lens-forming contact-metasomatic ores and hydrothermal veins related to the Karkonosze granite. The ore assemblages are abundant in Cu, and more rarely in Pb, Ag, As, Fe, and others elements, were mined in Miedzianka-Ciechanowice from the early Middle Ages to the mid 20th century. This paper presents descriptions the selected objects of mining and smelting activity in the Miedzianka-Ciechanowice area. Old dumps, adits, shafts and ruins of copper smelter are a unique assemble of relicts related to the development of the local mining. The authors propose to create a geotourist route in this area.

Na obszarze dawnego górnictwa kruszcowego w rejonie Rudaw Janowickich występują sztuczne zbiorniki wód powierzchniowych powstałe w nieckach poeksploatacyjnych – Kolorowe Jeziorka w Wieściszowicach. Nazwy poszczególnych zbiorników pochodzą od pozornej barwy występującej w nich wody: Błękitne Jeziorko, Purpurowe Jeziorko oraz Zielone Jeziorko. Jednym z elementów prac badawczych prowadzonych w rejonie Miedzianka–Czarnów–Wieściszowice jest ocena stratyfikacji składu chemicznego w profilu pionowym wód wymienionych zbiorników. W artykule przedstawiono wstępne wyniki badań zmienności stężeń jonów żelaza oraz siarczanów. Przeprowadzono również analizę specjacyjną tych jonów z wykorzystaniem programu PHREEQC.

Mining activity in the Rudawy Janowickie Mountains results in the transformation of the environment including surface and ground waters. The most important are those related to the formation of artificial lakes of Kolorowe Jeziorka in Wieściszowice. The lakes take their names from the colour of water: Blue Lake, Purple Lake and Green Lake. Investigation of the changes in the concentration of sulphates and iron in the vertical section of Kolorowe Jeziorka is part of a scientific project carried out in the Miedzianka–Czarnów–Wieściszowice region. In this article, the authors show the preliminary result of this investigation as well as of hydrochemical modelling using the PHREEQC code.

Two new geoturistic projects based on the idea of the Sudetic Geostrada, proposed by Leszek Sawicki, are now realized in the Sudetes Mts. Project "Sudetic Geostrada - geologic-touristic guide" is carried out by the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute in collaboration with Czech Geological Survey within the frame of Poland-Czech Republic Cross-border Cooperation Operational Program 2007–2013. The project is aimed at creation of atractive geotouristic route, 600 km long, within cross-border areas of Poland and Czech Republic. Second project "Sudetic Geostrada - geological and landscape studies with cataloguing of inanimate nature objects" is lead by the Prof. Tadeusz Słomka and his team from University of Science and Technology in Cracow in collaboration with PGI Lower Silesian Branch. The project is focused on cataloguing and documentation of geotouristic objects and valorization of selected geostites for use in general and scientific education as well as geotourism.
