W testach ostrzałem tych paneli za pomocą pocisków PG-7W i PG-7WM stwierdzono wysoką skuteczność ochronną i uzyskano redukcję gęstości powierzchniowej o ok. 20% w odniesieniu do obecnie stosowanych paneli. W konstrukcji panelu użyte warstwowe i monolityczne materiały laminatowe o gęstości w zakresie 1,0÷2,1 g/cm³.

Test results of perforation resistance of experimental steel-composite panels containing nanostructured bainite-austenite (NANOS-BA®) steel plates against RPG grenade are presented. Experimental panels were modified in the range of thickness of plates and grade of steel and in a type of composite materials. In firing tests with PG-7W and PG-7WM grenades, the high protection efficiency at about 20% reduction in areal density in comparison with panels used at present were achieved. On the basis of firing test results of steel plates used in experimental panels, proper level of toughness and strength at high resistance to piercing was selected. For the final design of experimental panels, different properties of steel plates for particular layers of the panel were proposed. Laminated materials of density in the range of 1.0÷2.1 g/cm³ were used for experimental steel composite panels.

W artykule przedstawiono budowę pocisku z głowicą kumulacyjną oraz wykorzystanego w nim zapalnika WP-7. Opisano etapy budowania modelu numerycznego zapalnika oraz badania doświadczalne i numeryczne mające na celu kalibrację uzyskanego modelu. W dalszej części przedstawiono wyniki analiz numerycznych uderzenia pełnego pocisku z zaimplementowanym modelem zapalnika w wybrany typ pancerza prętowego oraz podsumowanie.

The paper presents a construction of a missile with a cumulative head and WP-7 fuse. The stages of preparing a FEM model of the fuse, as well as experimental and numerical tests carried out to calibrate the obtained model were described. In the further part, the results of numerical analysis of impact of the full model of the missile with an implemented fuse model into a chosen type of a rod armour and the summary were presented.

During ongoing conflicts around the world, some of the most dangerous threats are rocket-propelled grenades. They are light, easy to use and cheap, and their penetration reaches 900 mm of armoured RHA steel. Therefore, in many experimental and numerical laboratories there are researches of different, in aspect of shape, dimensions and used material, types of rod armours protecting against such a threat carried out. This kind of research must be confirmed in the last part of design by appropriate field tests. However, at the beginning of the design process, it is important to find a fast method of testing the developed solutions in a manner, which allows us to observe and measure as many process parameters as possible. One of such tests is research with the use of simplified models built in an appropriate scale. Small dimensions and simple construction result in the fact that the cost of manufacturing of models is much lower, and time is shorter. Tests on the simplified models are also possible to be carried out in laboratory conditions, what reduces the costs and makes the measurements of physical properties easier. The article describes experimental investigations of the impact of a simplified missile with a shape charge jet head model into a thick plate and steel rods. The construction of a missile, the used equipment and apparatus as well as the proceedings of the experiment are presented. The paper provides information about the structure of FE model and both initial and boundary conditions of the examined system. The results of numerical analysis are presented and compared with the results from experimental tests.

Recent operations of Polish troops within the framework of peacemaking missions' uncovered weak points of the equipment used there. It turned out that one of the most significant threats is a shell equipped with a main shaped charge warhead used by partisan detachments. These can break even 900mm of shell-proof steel so it is very difflcult to protect anything from the shells. One of the ways of protection from high explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warheads is using bar armours. This paper focuses on analysis of a shell with PG-7G main shaped charge warhead stroke into a bar armor with a square section. This work presents a short description of the analyzed object. Moreover, there is a principle of operation of a shell with the speciflcation of the most trouble elements from the point ofview of high velocity partial stream creation. In addition, the paper indicates steps of a numerical model construction together with geometry simplifications and initial-marginal conditions. On the basis of the results the researchers evaluated the extent of destruction of shell key elements. Furthermore, the work indicates drawings with deformed parts and presents stresses maps of these elements. The summary states to what extent PG-7G shell stroke into the armor made of bars with a square section influences reduction of operation efficacy of this type of firearm. Calculations were conducted in LS-Dyna system, which is used for oscillation analyses with a finite elements method. In order to solve the motion equation the researchers used an ordinary integration method used for i.e. analyses of highly non-linear oscillation phenomena.
