Content available AHP QFD methodology for a recycled solar collector

As it is presented in literature, the AHP-QFD method is a method applicable to many sectors, namely industry. The article is a part of this framework, applying this method for the design of a recycled solar air heater according to customer’s expectations. The methodology is based on the application of QFD to detect consumer requirements, technical characteristics and their relationship matrices. while the AHP method aims to evaluate the weights of each criterion in order to make the right decision. In this study, the manufacturing process was projected from upstream to downstream, as well as a market study was established in October 2020, in Khouribga-Morocco, in which 50 people responded favourably to a survey about the most frequently searched requirements which include size, efficiency, design, price and ecology as well as their importance in a solar collector. Besides, relationship matrices and the weight matrices of the technical criteria have been established, by presenting a consistent ratio “CR” less than 10% showing the consistency of the assessment, and finally a priority given to the characteristics of the recycled solar air heater: cans and thermal insulation more superior to the others characteristics.

The competitive and turbulent environment generates the need to use various techniques to determine the level of product quality. In this aim, it is necessary to determine the direction of improvement attributes and function of the product based on customer requirements, which are usually uncertain. Therefore, the aim of the article is to propose the technique to improve the product quality by precisely determine the customers' requirements and the importance of the quality parameters for the current attributes of the product. This technique is a combination of methods i.e.: the QFD method (Quality Function Deployment) with the GRA method (Grey Relational Analysis). Using the QFD method, customer requirements were translated into technical features of the product. In turn, using the GRA method the imprecise customers' requirements were reduced and the importance of quality parameters was determined in a more accurate way. A test of a combination of the QFD and GRA methods for the household vacuum cleaner was made. The originality of the article is ensuring a precise study of the current attributes of the product from the point of customer satisfaction.

Up to date, workload and worker performance in Small Medium-sized Enterprise (SMEs) was assessed manually. KESAN (Kansei Engineering-based Sensor for Agroindustry) was developed as a tool to assess worker workload and performance. The latest prototype of KESAN was established. As the final step prior to the full-scale mass production, an industrial design was required and must be designed based on the validation to user needs. This research proposed an industrial design for mass production of KESAN using Kano model and Quality Function Deployment (QFD). The user needs was extracted from attributive analysis of Kano model. The matrix of House of Quality (HOQ) was utilized to connect the user needs and technical requirement. The research result validated Thirteen (13) user need attributes. The most important attribute was desktop application as an integrated decision support system. Fourteen (14) technical requirement attributes were identified to fulfil the user needs. Finally, a prototype was developed based on product final specification and prioritized technical requirements. The SMEs’s manager could use the prototype for workplace environmental management.

High doses of medical waste evidence that health waste management is problematic. A case study was conducted at various health institutions. This research analyzes various issues in the area of medical waste management. The research examines the perception of staff regarding medical waste management. The purpose of the study is to investigate the level of knowledge, attitudes and role of health practitioners in the management of medical waste. Here the quality index and the environmental index of two health centers are studied; one is a private hospital and the other one a state hospital and compares these two indices with a questionnaire. To provide environmentally friendly services, customers and environmental criteria have to be taken into account in the decision-making process and distributing the Green Quality Function provides a very useful way to achieve this goal.

W publikacji zaprezentowano rolę metody QFD w kreowaniu innowacji, omówiono podstawowe założenia koncepcji Desigh Thinking oraz zaprezentowano powiązania pomiędzy obszarami QFD a etapami Design Thinking.

Its aim is to present the possibilities of using the QFD method in Desigh Thinking from the theoretical perspective of compliance with the assumptions of the method. The publication presents the role of the QFD method in creating innovation, discusses the basic assumptions of the Desigh Thinking concept and presents the links between the areas of QFD and the stages of Design Thinking.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie sposobów rejestrowania głosu klienta (voice of customer) we współczesnej wersji metody QFD. W artykule najpierw przedstawiono rozumienie pojęcia „głos klienta”, a następnie dokonano przeglądu sposobów rozpoznania głosu klienta i przedstawiono wynik ich klasyfikacji. Opisano obszerniej tych z nich, które są rekomendowane do stosowania we współczesnej metodzie QFD. W zakończeniu podano wnioski z analizy dotyczące dominacji badań jakościowych, koncentracji na zbieraniu danych bezpośrednio od klienta i stosowania triangulacji metod i źródeł danych.

The aim of the article is to present the methods of recording the voice of the customer (VOC) in the modern QFD. The paper presents the understanding of the term "voice of the customer" and a review of tools for recognition and recording the VOC. Next the methods were classified and those of them which are recommended for use in modern QFD were described in more details. At the end of the stated conclusions from the analysis regarding the dominance of qualitative research, focus on collecting data directly from the client and use triangulation methods and data sources.

This article is a part of a series of papers which discuss the usefulness of production engineering tools for general civil engineering. Applications of selected production engineering tools in civil engineering are presented in these papers. The diverse nature of the tools is considered while outlining detailed areas of their application in civil engineering. The features of the tools make them representative of production engineering methodology. Thus, information about the civil engineering applications of the tools also makes it possible to draw practical conclusions about the general usefulness of production engineering methodology in civil engineering. The applications of quality function deployment (QFD) are utilised in this regard in the article.

Uwzględniając zróżnicowany charakter wybranych narzędzi inżynierii produkcji, przedstawiono w cyklu szczegółowe obszary ich zastosowań w budownictwie. Cechy wybranych narzędzi sprawiają, że dobrze ilustrują one metodykę inżynierii produkcji. Dlatego na podstawie informacji dotyczących ich zastosowań w budownictwie, można sformułować praktyczne wnioski dotyczące przydatności metod inżynierii produkcji w budownictwie. Celem opracowania jest analiza zapisów normy ISO 16355-1:2015 dedykowanej metodzie QFD i próba określenia wpływu ustanowienia standaryzacji na rozwój tej metody. Na podstawie badania treści normy i literatury dotyczącej QFD omówiono współczesny kształt metody wraz z narzędziami pomocniczymi. Otrzymane wyniki pozwoliły na potwierdzenie dojrzałości metodologicznej i empirycznej ujętej w standardzie metody. W konsekwencji sformułowano wniosek o potencjalnym pozytywnym wpływie ISO 16355-1:2015 na rozwój QFD i na przyspieszenie jej dyfuzji.

The aim of the study is to analyze ISO 16355-1:2015 standard dedicated to Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and to undertake an attempt to establish its effect to QFD’s development. Based on the literature review about QFD, the author discusses contemporary version of this approach for new product development with auxiliary tools. The obtained results allowed to conclude that QFD reached its methodological and empirical maturity of QFD. Consequently, the potential positive impact of ISO 16355-1:2015 on the evolution and development of QFD and on acceleration of its diffusion was stated.

This paper deals with transformation of the customer's requirements into the specified technical parameters by means of the QFD (Quality Function Deployment) method on condition that the customer disposes of basic technical knowledge. The relevant technical parameters are describing an engineering product, which is chosen from the automotive industry area. The QFD method enables elaboration of the individual functions of quality using a multi-phased mapping process in order to transform efficiently the customer's requirements into the real technical parameters of the given product. The chosen technical product is the petrol engine 1.2 Ecotec® installed in the passenger car and it is working in the functional connection with 5 stage manual gearbox. This article analyses in detail only the first phase of the petrol engine production, taking into consideration the given technical requirements. The following step of this process is the next phase, which is focused on the engine aggregates, further it is the phase of the engine aggregate production and the final phase is the global production.

One of the most important issues in product planning is to identify customer needs and combine them with product technical and trade characteristics. Identification of customer needs was discussed, and product decomposition method was presented in the paper. The Quality Function Deployment method was suggested to be applied as a product and production process data integration tool, where engineering characteristics of a product are combined with its trade characteristics.

W analizie skupiono się na identyfikacji niezgodności występujących podczas produkcji wybranej części samochodowej oraz metodach doskonalenia jej jakości. Do określenie struktury niezgodności wyrobu wykorzystano diagram Ishikawy, oraz diagram Pareto-Lorenza. Dokonano kwantyfikacji przyczyn niezgodności wykorzystując metodę FMEA oraz zrealizowano proces doskonalenia jakości analizowanego wyrobu w oparciu o wymagania klienta stosując metodę QFD.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę planowania procesu produkcyjnego wyrobu innowacyjnego a w szczególności została przeprowadzona analiza zadań technicznego przygotowania produkcji TPP ukierunkowanych na automatyzację wybranych zadań planowania wyrobu innowacyjnego. Zwrócono uwagę na modułowość wyrobu, jako sposób na spełnienie indywidualnych wymagań klienta przy ponoszeniu niewielkich kosztów. Istnieje wiele sposobów udoskonalania istniejących rozwiązań prowadzących do satysfakcji klienta – literatura podaje między innymi metodę TRIZ, QFD. W artykule poddano analizie problematykę identyfikacji potrzeb klienta. Przedstawiono zagadnienia dekompozycji wyrobu. Zastosowanie koncepcji wyrobów modułowych wymaga opracowania modeli, które w uniwersalny sposób przedstawią strukturę wyrobu wraz z możliwymi alternatywami. W artykule przedstawiono model atrybutowy wyrobu. Zaproponowano zastosowanie metody QFD do identyfikacji wymagań klienta oraz określenia korelacji między wymaganiami klienta a cechami technicznymi wyrobu oraz korelacji między kolejnymi atrybutami generowanymi w ramach etapów TPP. Przedstawiono możliwość zastosowania sztucznych sieci neuronowych, jako metody generowania danych niezbędnych dla potrzeb planowania TPP wyrobu innowacyjnego. Zaproponowano regułową metodę oceny podobieństwa wyrobów.

The product attribute model was presented in the paper. The QFD method was apply for customer needs identification and correlation analysis for product structure and another data created during production process preparation. Artificial neural network was used for innovative product planning data prediction. Rule based method product similarity assessment was applied.

Purpose: The objective of successful companies is the integration of customer requirements in the development process of a new product. Therefore, the Quality Function Deployment method has proven useful several times. The customer requirements often contain contradictions, which are mostly solved by compromises. The aim should be to integrate all customers’ demands and wishes into future products. Methodology: The theory of inventive problem solving can be applied to eliminate compromises in the product development. The method’s different tools enable a goal-oriented and systematic conflict resolution and may help to uncover trends. This paper displays an approach where individual tools of TRIZ are integrated into the Quality Function Deployment. Results: The result of this work is the presentation of the resulting benefits from combining the two methods. For this reason, individual tools of TRIZ are used in different points of the QFD process. The paper shows examples of starting points. Value of paper: In the context of this paper, the benefits from the interaction of QFD and TRIZ are presented. These are particularly evident in the initial phase of project implementation. In this phase the goal of the QFD process is to succeed in translating the voice of the customer for the company and then integrating it into the product development.

W artykule przedstawiony został zaproponowany algorytm oceny możliwości rewitalizacji zwałowiska górniczego, przy jednej z kopalń Kompani Węglowej SA. Uwzględniony został status prawny, położenie oraz zaproponowane zostały potencjalne scenariusze, z których wybrano jeden (najlepszy) ze względu na przyjęte kryteria. Wybrany scenariusz został poddany dalszej ocenie za pomocą takich analiz jak: SWOT/TOWS, FMEA i QFD. Analizy zostały przeprowadzone w celu uzyskania bardziej efektywnych i miarodajnych wyników aspektów społecznych i ekonomicznych.

The article presented the proposed algorithm evaluate the possibility of revitalization of mining overburden dumps, on one of the mines and Coal Company SA. Included was a legal status, location and have been proposed as potential scenarios with which you have selected one (the best) due to the adopted criteria. The selected scenario has been subjected to further evaluation by using such analyses as: SWOT/TWOS, FMEA and QFD. The analysis has been carried out in order to obtain more effective and reliable results of social and economic aspects.

By employing quality management methods to upgrade their working environments, enterprises gain the ability to satisfy the needs and expectations of their customers, including the internal customers who rely on the processes carried out by their employees. The effort not only helps them boost the quality, reliability, flexibility and cost-efficiency of their processes but also allows them to comply with legislative/regulatory requirements. In doing so, they bring their system into conformity with any safety policies that are in place in their organizations. The article discusses the option of employing quality-oriented process design methods (FMEA, QFD and DOE) to improve working environments. The author describes some of the basic prerequisites for their use aimed at boosting the planning and deployment of improvement measures in areas related to the working environment.

W artykule, zgodnie z „podejściem procesowym” ISO 9000, wykazana została konieczność stworzenia systemu monitoringu i kontroli podziemnego magazynowania gazu, w tym: obiektów, parametrów, metod, częstotliwości działań naprawczych, który wykonany zostanie na podstawie wzoru strukturalnego cyklu monitoringu. Podejście jakościowo-wskaźnikowe pozwala na definiowanie złożonych kryteriów oszacowania efektywności działania, które będą pomocne w podejmowaniu skutecznych decyzji w zakresie zarządzania w odpowiednim czasie, w tym również z punktu widzenia ochrony środowiska.
