A new concept of the preparation of selective catalysts for a, ß-unsaturated aldehydes reduction is presented in this work. A monolayer TiO2 on oxide carriers has been used as a support for platinum hydrogenation catalyst. The enhancement of selectivity towards unsaturated alcohols has been observed in comparison with standard Pt/TiO2 and Pt/SiO2 catalysts.
