Logistics managers are responsible for efficient functioning of transport companies. This article will allow logistics managers to better understand the essence of logistics projects and the implementation of alternative routes. The aim of this article is to show the process of implementation of new routing alternatives. The analysis was conducted for the period January ÷ April 2020, which marked the emergence of the first COVID-19 cases, as well as for the months January ÷ April 2021. Alternative routes were proposed and implemented to improve the quality of services in a transport company operating in Poland. The impact of the pandemic on the selected transport company was evaluated. The results on new sections of transport corridors were presented together with an in-depth verification of how the introduced changes affected the provided transport services. In the end, the most important benefits connected with the analysis and the implemented project were presented.

Przedstawiono w dużym skrócie początki pieniądza i jego rozwój oraz pojawienie się pieniądza zastępczego. Scharakteryzowano przyczyny jego emisji. Omówiono monety ceramiczne jako przykład pieniądza zastępczego, których pierwsze emisję sięgają przełomu XVIII i XIX wieku. Przedstawiono przykłady tokenów (żetonów) syjamskich, które wyszły z domów gier, stając się lokalną monetą obiegową oraz porcelanowe monety wytwarzane w tym samym okresie w fabrykach porcelany w Worcester i Prixton w Anglii. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono emisjom lokalnym ceramicznych monet zastępczych w latach 1920-1922 na obszarze Niemiec. Osiągnęły one niespotykaną wcześniej skalę. Scharakteryzowano produkcję monet w fabryce porcelany w Miśni, która wytwarzała je dla wielu miast niemieckich. Szczególną ciekawostkę stanowią wytworzone w Miśni w 1920 r. monety ceramiczne dla Gwatemali, które miały zastąpić nietrwałe w wilgotnym klimacie banknoty. Ogółem monety ceramiczne emitowały 62 miasta niemieckie, z czego 10 znajduje się obecnie na terytorium Polski. Zaprezentowano monety z Bolesławca, Goleniowa, Jedlinki, Sycowa, Wałbrzycha, Zielonej Góry, Ziębic i Raciborza. Część z nich wyprodukowano w Miśni, a część powstała w lokalnych zakładach ceramicznych. Odniesiono się do motywów występujących na tych monetach oraz różnic zabarwienia wynikających z domieszek.

The origins of money and its development as well as the appearance of money of necessity are briefly presented. The reasons for its emission were characterized. Ceramic coins were discussed as an example of the money of necessity, which first emission dates back to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. There are presented examples of the Siamese tokens, that originated from the game houses and became local circulation coins, and examples of porcelain coins produced in the same period in porcelain factories in Worcester and Prixton in England. Particular attention was paid to local emissions of ceramic substitute coins in the years 1920-1922 in Germany. They have reached an unprecedented scale. The production of coins in the Meissen porcelain factory was characterized, which produced them for many German cities. Of particular interest are the ceramic coins produced in Meissen in 1920 for Guatemala in order to replace the banknotes that are unstable in a humid climate. In total, ceramic coins issued 62 German cities, of which 10 are currently on the territory of Poland. Coins from Bolesławiec, Goleniów, Jedlinki, Syców, Wałbrzych, Zielona Góra, Ziębice and Racibórz have been presented. Some of them were produced in Meissen, and some were made at local ceramics plants. Reference was made to the motifs found on these coins and the differences in colouring that resulted from admixtures.
