Content available Elektrycy wśród polskich medalistów olimpijskich

W roku 2019 upłynęło dokładnie 100 lat od zawiązania się Polskiego Komitetu Olimpijskiego, a także 100 lat od powołania do życia Stowarzyszenia Elektryków Polskich. Niewiele organizacji społecznych w Polsce może pochwalić się nieprzerwanym działaniem przez okres stu lat, które upłynęły od odzyskania przez nasz kraj niepodległości w listopadzie 1918 r., aż do roku 2022. Do takich organizacji zaliczają się zarówno Stowarzyszenie Elektryków Polskich jak i Polski Komitet Olimpijski. Wśród polskich olimpijczyków, startujących w Igrzyskach Letnich jak i Zimowych, była pewna liczba elektryków, a wśród nich byli również medaliści olimpijscy. Ogółem wśród polskich medalistów olimpijskich było 17 elektryków, którzy łącznie zdobyli 21 medali (4 złote, 6 srebrnych i 11 brązowych) w 12 dyscyplinach sportu.

In 2019, exactly 100 years have passed since the establishment of the Polish Olympic Committee, as well as 100 years since the establishment of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers. Few social organizations in Poland can boast of uninterrupted operation for the hundred years that have elapsed since our country regained independence at the end of World War I in November 1918 until 2022. Such organizations include both the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers and and the Polish Olympic Committee. The first Olympic medalist among Polish electricians was Marian Suski in fencing at the 1932 Los Angeles Games, winning the bronze medal in the team sabre competition. Among the Polish Olympians, competing in both the Summer and Winter Games, there were also a number of electricians, including Olympic medalists. In total, so far there were 17 electricians - Polish Olympic medalists, who in total won 21 medals (4 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze) in 12 sports.

The article analyzes the Polish language nomenclature of types, construction parts and equipment of vessels recorded in the 16th-century printed dictionaries with the Polish component. In addition, the text reviews the current state of research and discusses the sources in view of the terminology in question. The excerpted source material has been listed in three tables.

The article presents an adverse impact of the transport in agglomerations on the environment and climate conditions. The sources and acceptable levels of environmental pollution and climate degradation are presented as well as contribution of the cars to this process, together with the actions undertaken with a view to reduce the emission. The trends in modernizing of the public transport systems are pointed out, inclusive of justification of the ecological tramtrain system implementation. The next part of the paper includes comparison of the features of the tram and passenger rail vehicles used for public transport in agglomerations. A brief outline of the actions initiated to implement the tram-train system in Poland is depicted. The final part of the article highlights the technical issues related to the difference between the tram and rail vehicle construction and equipment and discusses the scope of organizational and legal tasks necessary to undertake the practical measures. The Polish contractors potentially able to perform these tasks are indicated. In the last part a brief assessment of railway network suitability for implementation of the tram-train system was carried out on the example of the Poznań agglomeration. An extensive bibliography makes an essential part of the paper. The present article is a continuation of the earlier papers developed with participation of the author. Some of these problems have been only identified in the former papers and, therefore, they are discussed here more clearly, due to their importance to the topic of the tram-train system. The second part of the article will be published in the next issue of the quarterly Rail Vehicles.

W artykule przedstawiono negatywne oddziaływanie transportu w aglomeracjach na stan środowiska i klimat. Opisano źródła i dopuszczalne poziomy zanieczyszczeń środowiska i degradacji klimatu oraz udział samochodów w tym procesie oraz podejmowane działania dla ograniczenia emisji. Przedstawiono tendencje unowocześniania systemów komunikacji zbiorowej oraz uzasadnienie wdrażania ekologicznego systemu tram-train. W dalszej części artykułu porównano cechy tramwaju i pasażerskich pojazdów kolejowych jako środków transportu zbiorowego w aglomeracjach. W krótkim zarysie opisano działania, jakie zostały podjęte dla wdrożenia systemu tram-train w Polsce. W końcowej części artykułu odniesiono się do zagadnień technicznych związanych z różnicami w zakresie budowy i wyposażenia tramwajów i pojazdów kolejowych, a także omówiono zakres prac organizacyjno-prawnych, których podjęcie jest niezbędne dla rozpoczęcia działań praktycznych. Wskazano potencjalnych realizatorów tych działań na poziomie krajowym. W ostatniej części przeprowadzono, na przykładzie aglomeracji poznańskiej, krótka analizę przydatności sieci kolejowej do wprowadzenia systemu tram-train. Istotną częścią artykułu jest obszerna lista bibliografii. Niniejszy artykuł jest kontynuacją wcześniejszych artykułów, których autor był współautorem. W poprzednich artykułach niektóre zagadnienia były tylko zasygnalizowane, dlatego jednak w związku z ich istotnym znaczeniem dla tematu systemu tram-train zostały omówione szerzej. Druga część artykułu zostanie opublikowana w kolejnym numerze kwartalnika Pojazdy Szynowe.

W artykule przedstawiono badania wstępne prezentujące zależność między mikrostrukturą powierzchni nieukierunkowanych w skali mikro i makro. W tym celu posłużono się analizą topografii powierzchni z wykorzystaniem profilometru bezstykowego oraz przeprowadzono badanie adhezji (kąta zwilżania) próbki w celu określenia jak dany materiał o określonej mikrostrukturze wpływa na zmianę kąta zwilżania powierzchni. Kolejne etapy badań będą rozszerzone o dodatkowe eksperymenty umożliwiające określenie przydatności powierzchni nieobciążonych wykonanych ze stali nierdzewnej z uwzględnieniem łatwości ich czyszczenia w warunkach eksploatacyjnych oraz wpływu korozji na stan powierzchni i warstwy wierzchniej w trakcie ich eksploatacji.

The article presents preliminary studies presenting the relationship between microstructure of non-directional surfaces on the micro and macro scales. For this purpose, surface analysis was performed using a contactless profilometer and then an adhesion test (contact angle) of the selected sample was determined to determine how the material of a particular microstructure affected the change in the contact angle of the surface. Subsequent stages of research will be extended by additional experiments to determine the suitability of unloaded surfaces made of stainless steel, taking into account their ease of cleaning in service conditions and the effect of corrosion on the surface and surface layer during their use.

In this article the authors investigated and presented the experiments on the sentence boundaries annotation from Polish speech using acoustic cues as a source of information. The main result of the investigation is an algorithm for detection of the syntactic boundaries appearing in the places of punctuation marks. In the first stage, the algorithm detects pauses and divides a speech signal into segments. In the second stage, it verifies the configuration of acoustic features and puts hypotheses of the positions of punctuation marks. Classification is performed with parameters describing phone duration and energy, speaking rate, fundamental frequency contours and frequency bands. The best results were achieved for Naive Bayes classifier. The efficiency of the algorithm is 52% precision and 98% recall. Another significant outcome of the research is statistical models of acoustic cues correlated with punctuation in spoken Polish.

Reverberation is a common problem for many speech technologies, such as automatic speech recogni- tion (ASR) systems. This paper investigates the novel combination of precedence, binaural and statistical independence cues for enhancing reverberant speech, prior to ASR, under these adverse acoustical con- ditions when two microphone signals are available. Results of the enhancement are evaluated in terms of relevant signal measures and accuracy for both English and Polish ASR tasks. These show inconsistencies between the signal and recognition measures, although in recognition the proposed method consistently outperforms all other combinations and the spectral-subtraction baseline.

Filled pauses (FPs) have proved to be more than valuable cues to speech production processes and important units in discourse analysis. Some aspects of their form and occurrence patterns have been shown to be speaker- and language-specific. In the present study, basic acoustic properties of FPs in Polish task-oriented dialogues are explored. A set of FPs was extracted from a corpus of twenty task- oriented dialogues on the basis of available annotations. After initial scrutiny and selection, a subset of the signals underwent a series of pitch, formant frequency and voice quality analyses. A significant amount of variation found in the realisations of FPs justifies their potential application in speaker recognition systems. Regular monosegmental FPs were confirmed to show relatively stable basic acoustic parameters, which allows for their easy identification and measurements but it may result in less significant differences among the speakers.

On the basis of the data from OECD (EURO-STAT), VDMA, CETOP and the International Statistic Committee and the Chief Statistical Office (GUS), the dynamics of sales and orders in various branches of the machine-building and electromechanical industry was presented, by comparing 2008 versus 2007 and 2009 versus 2008. The included data were related to such countries like USA, Germany, Japan and China. The data showing a drop by 30 - 40%, even by 70% of orders in such branches like mining and power engineering machinery, construction machinery and machine tools were specified. The present-day status of the domestic industry, especially that of machine and equipment building was shown.

The paper presents the global and European market of machinery and equipment, in particular the market of hydraulics and its main shareholders: USA, China, Japan and the CETOP countries. The dynamics of the transformation on the global, European market, also in some countries of significance in that area, are shown. The sharpness of the drop in the sales of hydraulic and pneumatics products has been related to the drop in the production of machinery and equipment as well as to the general economic situation, economies being in the state of slowdown, recession or crisis. The analysis of the state of the sector of hydraulics and pneumatics in a dozen or so most important countries is based on the comparisons of the sales and orders as well as on the forecasts of 2008 versus 2007. The most recent data, January-July 2009 versus 2008, are also presented.

The phonetical statistics were collected from several Polish corpora. The paper is a summary of the data which are phoneme n-grams and some phenomena in the statistics. Triphone statistics apply context-dependent speech units which have an important role in speech recognition systems and were never calculated for a large set of Polish written texts. The standard phonetic alphabet for Polish, SAMPA, and methods of providing phonetic transcriptions are described.

W niniejszej pracy zaprezentowano opis statystyk głosek języka polskiego zebranych z dużej liczby tekstów. Triady głosek pełnią istotną rolę w rozpoznawaniu mowy. Omówiono obserwacje dotyczące zebranych statystyk i przedstawiono listy najpopularniejszych elementów.

We present a method for the structural collocation extraction for an inflective language (Polish) based on the process divided into two phases: (1) extraction and filtering of the pairs of lemmatised wordforms and (2) structural annotation of the extracted collocations with lexico-syntactic patterns. The pattern templates and parameters are specified manually but their instances are both generated and tested on the corpus automatically. The extracted collocations were evaluated by applying them as rules in morphosyntactic disambiguation of Polish and by comparing them with a list of two-word expressions extracted from two Polish dictionaries.

We present a direct method to construct a morpho-syntactic guesser for Polish. Such a guesser produces morpho-syntactic descriptions for word forms unknown to the morphological analyser. The method relies upon a statistical a tergo index, in which pseudosuffixes (endings) extracted from a statistical tree define morpho-syntactic properties of corresponding word forms. The secondary aim is to investigate to what extent it is possible to develop the morphological analysis exclusively on the basis of endings. A statistically extracted a tergo index of Polish word forms was created. Various experiments giving insights into the properties of the index are presented. The method seems to be easily applicable to any other inflectional language with only minor technical changes.

A large number of different tags, limited corpora and the free word order are the main causes of low accuracy of tagging in Polish (automatic disambiguation of morphological descriptions) by applying commonly used techniques based on stochastic modeling. In the paper the rule-based architecture of the TaKIPI Polish tagger combining handwritten and automatically extracted rules is presented. The possibilities of optimization of its parameters and component are discussed, including the possibility of using different methods of rules extraction, than C4.5 Decision Trees applied initially. The main goal of this paper is to explore a range of promising rule-based classifiers and investigate their impact on the accuracy of tagging. Simple techniques of combing classifiers are also tested. The performed experiments have shown that even a simple combination of different classifiers can increase the tagger's accuracy by almost one percent.

In the paper the idea of the multilevel correction of the results handwriting OCR of medical texts is investigated. The correction is performed according to different levels of linguistic knowledge. Three types of models, namely: the n-gram Language Models of word form and base form sequences, the morpho-syntactic model based on a tagger and the model of correction by parsing are presented and their results are compared. The parsing model is based on the combination of a deterministic Czech parser adapted for Polish and the Structured Language Model based on lexicalised, binary parsing trees produced in the left-to-right manner. Contrary to the initial expectations, the best result of correction from 82% of the word level classifier to 92.98% of the overall accuracy was achieved with the help of a n-gram Language Models. The more rich description of language expressions in a model, the worse results were obtained. This result is in large extent caused by the specific characteristics of the processed medical documents.
