Analysis and computer simulation have been made of power balance of an electric vehicle supplied with solar energy, in unsteady motion (with some parts of the path traveled with steady motion, the others with acceleration or deceleration). The consideration includes gravitation resistance, apart from the rolling and aerodynamic resistance. The calculation takes also into account the corrected air density. Total power demand is met from a photovoltaic panel and complemented from the battery. Further analysis and computer simulation have been made on choosing battery for an electric automotive vehicle supplied with solar power, moving with unsteady motion. Various battery types have been applied, taking into account their masses necessary in order to ensure the required power level, being a result of the power density and the Peukert constant describing the battery capacity decay.
