The necessity and even inevitability of the construction repairinig has been shown. The construction repair as a sustainability development has been considered. In construction activity – in practice “on site” – a lot of rules of thumb are used. Those rules often seems to be far away from a scientific statement, however they are a consequence of scientific deliberation. In this context the standard PN-EN 1504 could be treated as the set of rules for concrete construction repair. However the standard is in many cases not easy, intricated and seems to be unfriendly to the readers. On that basis a premise has been shown to elaborate the comment to the standard: Naprawa i ochrona konstrukcji z betonu. Komentarz do PN-EN 1504; PWN, 2017, by L. Czarnecki, P. Łukowski, A. Garbacz. In this paper author attempted to formulate rules of thumb for concrete construction repairs. The rules has been presented on the backdrop of science engineering relation as the highlights complemented with suitable pictures.

Beton jest, i jak można przypuszczać będzie, powszechnie stosowanym, względnie tanim, materiałem konstrukcyjnym. Rozwój technologii betonu sprawił, że możliwości wznoszenia konstrukcji z betonu są praktycznie nieograniczone. Beton obok funkcji konstrukcyjnej coraz częściej ma również zadanie kształtowania formy architektonicznej budowli. Norma PN-EN 1504 porządkuje zagadnienia związane ze stosowaniem materiałów i systemów do napraw i ochrony konstrukcji betonowych.

Concrete is, and probably will remain, a commonly used, relatively cheap construction material. As a result of development of concrete technology, possibilities of erecting concrete constructions are virtually unlimited. Apart from the constructional function, the more and more common task of concrete is also to shape the architectural form of buildings. The norm PN-EN 1504 will regulate issues regarding the use of materials and systems for repairs and protection of concrete constructions.

The paper deals with the repairs of the concrete structures in the light of the European Standards of the series PN-EN 1504. These standards are the formal expression of the problem with respect to up-to-date status of the knowledge and technology. The role of the polymers is particularly significant in this area.

W artykule omówiono stan normalizacji w zakresie wyrobów i systemów do ochrony i napraw konstrukcji betonowych. Podjęto zagadnienia wspólne dla wszystkich kategorii wyrobów i systemów opisanych w serii norm PN-EN 1504. Przedstawiono zadania producenta materiałów i systemów do napraw konstrukcji betonowych przed wprowadzeniem wyrobu na rynek budowlany. Omówiono takie zagadnienia, jak wstępne badania typu, zakładową kontrolę produkcji, systemy oceny zgodności oraz deklarację zgodności i oznakowanie wyrobu znakiem CE.

State of normalization in the area of products and systems for protection and repair of concrete structures is presented in the paper. In the present part 1 of the paper problems common for all categories of products and systems described in series of standards PN-EN 1504 are discussed. Duties of producers of materials and systems for protection and repair of concrete structures before bringing product on the building market are presented. Such a problems as initial type testing, factory production control, evaluation of conformity systems as well as declaration of conformity and CE marking of the product are discussed in the paper.
