The article presents the results of the tests conducted at the Institute of Power Engineering and Turbomachinery of the Silesian University of Technology. A prototype PEM cell with the capacity of 2000W of tubular construction by Power Avenue was the subject of the test. The cell was selected considering its potential use as the dispersed source of electricity and heat. The measurement results of the main operating parameters of the examined cells have been discussed to establish, namely the voltage and current characteristic of the losses occurring in the cell and temperature and energy balance characteristics. A concept of evacuating the heat generated in the fuel cell has also been discussed.
