Cross-Entropy Based Image Thresholding

This paper presents a novel global thresholding algorithm for the binarization of documents and gray-scale images using Cross-Entropy Clustering. In the first step, a gray-level histogram is constructed, and the Gaussian densities are fitted. The thresholds are then determined as the cross-points of the Gaussian densities. This approach automatically detects the number of components (the upper limit of Gaussian densities is required).

Paper presents the description of research on two - phase gas - liquid flows. The research was inspired by the necessity of developing a new method for recognition of tested flows. In the beginning, there is a presentation of two - phase gas - liquid flows and special hydraulic installation where flows are created, next there is a description of the computer vision system which was created to research and at the end there is a presentation of the application designed for flows recognition including descriptions of all major algorithms used.

Artykuł opisuje badania w dziedzinie przepływów dwufazowych typu gaz-ciecz. Badania zostały zainspirowane potrzebą stworzenia nowych metod rozpoznawania typów badanych przepływów. Na początku znajduję się opis przepływów dwufazowych typu gaz-ciecz oraz specjalistycznej instalacji gdzie badane przepływy powstają, następnie znajduję się opis komputerowego system wizyjnego który powstał na potrzeby badań oraz na końcu znajduję się opis aplikacji powstałej w celu rozpoznawania przepływów dwufazowych oraz opis najciekawszych zastosowanych tam algorytmów.
