Zabudowa przyrynkowa w Rzeszowie była przedmiotem wnikliwych badań i analiz już w latach 80. i 90. XX w. Przeprowadzone wówczas badania terenowe, historyczne jak również kwerendy archiwalne miały na celu określenie charakterystyki historyczno-architektonicznej analizowanych kamienic oraz sporządzenie dla nich wytycznych konserwatorskich. Pomimo zdefiniowanych założeń konserwatorskich zamierzenia budowlane, pojawiające się z biegiem lat w przestrzeni rzeszowskiego Rynku, nie korespondują z historyczną tkanką miasta. Przygotowana przez autorów analiza historyczno-architektoniczna poprzedzona została badaniami terenowymi, historycznymi oraz kwerendą archiwalną. Przeprowadzone rozpoznanie umożliwiło porównanie stanu istniejącego fasad z zabudową historyczną.

The buildings located at the old town market square in Rzeszów have been the subject of extensive research already in the 1980s and 1990s. The fieldworks conducted at the time as well as the historical research and archival inquires were to determine both the historical and architectural characteristics of the analyzed tenements, aiming at creating the conservation guidelines for them. Despite the conservation objectives defined, plans of the buildings appearing over the years in the market space did not correspond to the historical buildings already existing there. The prepared by the authors comparative analysis of the current state of the market facades and the historic structures allowed the identification of the works being carried out. All the activities conducted in the area of research have been classified into three groups. The prepared typology of modern conservation thought enabled first to draw conclusions and then work out the conservation guidelines. The presented concepts of revaluation of the Rzeszów market square facades attempt – in accordance with the applicable conservation doctrine – to merge the modern buildings with historical structure of the city.
