W artykule przedstawiono realizowane i planowane do realizacji przedsięwzięcia inwestycyjne w latach 2005-2007w Spółce Akcyjnej Odlewnie Polskie w Starachowicach. Poczynania dotyczą stacji sporządzania mas formierskich, automatycznej linii formierskiejz poziomym podziałem form oraz topienia i obróbki pozapiecowej sotpów żelaza. Po zrealizowaniu zamierzeń będzie to bardzo nowoczesna, zautomatyzowana i zmechanizowana odlewnia.

The paper presents both the realised already and being planned investments in years 2005-2007 in the Polish Foundries - Joint Stock Company - in Starachowice. The investments concern a sand preparation plantl, an automated moulding line with a horizontal mould parting as well as melting and treatment of iron alloys aut of furnace. The highly modern,l automated and mechanised fourndry will be created after finishing the intended investments.

Selekcja klasycznych mas formierskich wiązanych bentonitem obejmuje zaplanowane rozdzielanie rodzajów, odmian i części mas tworzących formę, z której wybija się odlew. Podstawowym celem tego procesu jest wyodrębnienie mas o różnym stopniu przepalenia, przy jednoczesnym dążeniu do skrócenia czasu pozostawania odlewu w formie i zwiększenia strefy masy zupełnie nieprzepalonej, czyli o właściwościach wyjściowych. Masa ta, poza dodatkiem wody, nie wymaga praktycznie odświeżania, a średnia temperatura masy wybitej ulega obniżeniu, co zmniejsza niebezpieczeństwo występowanie wad odlewniczych spowodowanych stosowaniem tzw. "gorącej masy". Z kolei masa całkowicie przepalona ma lepszą regenerowalność niż masa zawierająca nieprzepalony bentonit (minerały grupy montmorillonitu), a zatem wyselekcjonowanie tej masy stwarza korzystniejsze warunki przebiegu i efektów regeneracji. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki pierwszych w Polsce przemysłowych prób selekcji klasycznej masy wiązanej bentonitem, potwierdzających wyraźne skrócenie czasu studzenia wybranego do badań odlewu.

The setection of the bentonite binded moulding sands means the planned segregation of the used sand after the kinds and modificafcons its parts. The mean aim of such a process is the separation of the sands with a different grade of overburnmg and, at the same time, the reduction of the time of the casting to stay in the mould, thus to increase the zone of the sand of the initial properties (i.e. not burned at all). Such a sand does not reguire any reconditions, besides of water addition, and the medium temperaturę of the sand being shaked out of the mould will be lower, what reduces the danger of casting defects to be formed because of the so called "hot sand". But the totally overburned moulding sand has a better reclamabiłrty than the moulding sand contammg a not burned bentonite (a minerał of the montmonllonite group), so the selection of the first one creates better conditions for the run and the effects of the reclamation process. In the paper the results of the f irst in Poland industry experiments of the separation of the bentonite binded moulding sands arę presented; they confirm an essential reduction of the cooling time of the casting under the tests.
