Już w XVIII wieku na terenie Odlewni DRAWSKI istniała huta, wytapiająca żelazo z rudy darniowej. Rozwój gospodarczy w Wielkopolsce przyczynił się do założenia w 1854 roku przez Sattlera w miejscu istniejącej huty Odlewni Żeliwa i Fabryki Maszyn. Losy Odlewni podlegały różnym zmianom, zmieniali się również właściciele firmy. Z uwagi na zapotrzebowanie społeczne, zmieniał się także asortyment wytwarzanych odlewów. W 1916 roku podjęto pierwsze próby produkcji żeliwa ciągliwego białego, a w 1934 roku żeliwa ciągliwego czarnego, co przyczyniło się do wzrostu liczby odbiorców nie tylko w Polsce, ale i zagranicą Po II Wojnie Światowej zdewastowany zakład, dzięki ofiarności załogi, został uruchomiony już pod koniec 1945 roku. W całym powojennym okresie prowadzono modernizację zakładu w zakresie wyposażenia odlewni, szczególnie stacji przerobu mas; realizowano także nowe inwestycje i nastąpiła rozbudowa zakładu. W roku 1992 przyjęto program restrukturyzacji obejmujący istotne sfery istnienia Odlewni DRAWSKI. W roku 2000 wdrożono system sterowania jakością, wg norm ISO i uzyskano stałą, dodatnią rentowność, co zaowocowało otrzymaniem tytułu Polska Odlewnia Kwalifikowana w 2003 roku.

There existed, on the area of the Foundry DRAWSKI SA, already in XVIII century metallugical works, where the pig iron was melted from the bog iron ore. The economic development in Great Poland contributed to the foundation in 1854 by Sattler, on the place of the metalurgical works, the Iron Foundry and Machinery Plant The state of the Foundry was undergone to different changes, as well as the owners of the firm. Taking into account the social demand the assortment of the castings being produced also changed. In 1916 the first trials of producing the castings in white malleable cast iron and in 1934 - in black malleable cast iron were taken up; this has contributed to the increase of the number of customers not only in the country but also abroad. After the II World War the devastated plant, thanks to the generosity of the staff, could initiate the production already in 1945. In the whole post-war period the plant was modernised, especially what concerns the sand treatment station; there also were realised new mvestitions, the plant was enlarged. In 1992 the program of the restructurization was accepted; it comprised essential fields of the existence of the Foundry DRAWSKI. In 2000 the system of the quality control after ISO standards was implemented and a stable, positive rentabihty was achieved, thanks to which the plant has received the title of the "Polish Qualified Foundry of the Year 2003".
