Model driven architecture for modeling of logical security based on RBAC approach

This paper presents an approach of role-based access control (RBAC) for information systems with the use of MDA (Model Driven Architecture). The main purpose is to join the concepts of MDA approach with the concepts of access control models, in particular with the concepts of access control based on roles and on usage concept. To reach this objectives the appropriate solution was created to model the extended RBAC model and URBAC model with the use of concepts and tools of software engineering, in particular MDA methodology and UML (Uniﬁed Modeling Language). The presented approach was developed for role engineering in the aspects of logical security of information systems.

Niniejszy artykuł jest ostatnią częścią cyklu prac prezentujących metodykę modelowania systemów informatycznych firmy AION. Ma na celu prezentację, opracowanego przez firmę AION, spójnego podejścia do projektowania systemów informatycznych. Omówiono w nim uporządkowany sposób opracowywanie architektury systemu, dokumentowanie ogólnych rozwiązań projektowych oraz wykorzystanie podejścia Model Driven Architecture w przekształcaniu modeli z etapu analizy.

The article is the last part of papers describing an approach for software system modeling method developed at AION. It's goal is to present a consistent way of designing software systems. It describes architecture definition, documentation of generic design solutions and use of Model Driven Architecture approach to transform analysis stage models to design models.
