Dziedzictwo kulturowe dawnego Księstwa Pomorskiego współcześnie rozciąga się na obszarze polskiego województwa zachodniopomorskiego oraz niemieckiego kraju związkowego Meklemburgia-Pomorze Przednie. Wśród obiektów architektonicznych wzniesionych w czasach funkcjonowania księstwa wiele uległo zniszczeniu, jedynie nieliczne dzieła zachowały się do naszych czasów. Celem artykułu jest określenie i scharakteryzowanie zasobu zabytków architektury pochodzących z okresu panowania dynastii Gryfitów, a będących w formie ruiny historycznej. Wśród tego zasobu dziedzictwa kulturowego dawnego księstwa wydzielono następujące grupy obiektów: - ruiny architektury militarnej, - ruiny architektury rezydencjonalnej, - ruiny architektury sakralnej. W artykule zaprezentowano przykłady zagospodarowania, użytkowania i eksponowania zabytków architektury w ramach poszczególnych grup, szczególnie koncentrując się na aktualnych działaniach podjętych w tym zakresie. Przebadany zasób ruin historycznych pozwolił na zebranie współczesnych doświadczeń na polu polskiej i niemieckiej ochrony zabytków, które posłużyły do zredagowania końcowych konkluzji odnoszących się do dokumentu „Zasady ochrony ruin historycznych” przyjętego na konferencji w Ciechanowcu w dniach 22-24.10.2009.

The cultural heritage of the former Pomeranian Duchy currently extends over the area of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the German federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Among many architectural objects erected in the times of the duchy’s functioning a large part of this historical heritage has been destroyed, several works have survived to our times. The aim of the article is to define and characterize the architectural heritage resources from the Griffin dynasty, which are in the form of an historical ruin. Among the cultural heritage of the duchy, the following groups of objects were separated: - ruins of military architecture, - ruins of residential architecture, - ruins of sacred architecture. The article presents examples of development, use and display of architectural monuments within individual groups, focusing in particular on current activities undertaken in this area. The researched resource of historical ruins allowed us to gather contemporary experiences in the field of Polish and German heritage protection, which were used to draft the final conclusions referring to the document „Rules for the protection of historical ruins” adopted at the conference in Ciechanowiec on 22nd-24th October 2009.

Roundness and matt degree of quartz grain surfaces in (fluvio-)glacial deposits of the Pomeranian Stage (Weichselian) in northeast Germany

Glacial tills and fluvioglacial sediments deposited by the ice-sheet during the Pomeranian Stage (Weichselian) in northeast Germany have been examined in terms of the degree of abrasion, rounding and frosting of quartz grain surfaces in order to determine the conditions and processes that occurred in the alimentation environment of the fine-grained material, as well as during transport. Strata in the glaciomarginal zone and the hinterland of the Pomeranian Stage in the area represent diverse lithofacies, but have similar textural features. These features illustrate mainly that a high-energy aquatic environment had reacted with glacial deposits prior to their inclusion into the ice mass and deposited in the area covered by the Odra lobe. The lack of regional diversification in the character of quartz grain surfaces in glacial deposits between the German part of the Odra lobe and the remainder of the area analysed is recorded solely in the morphological dimension, i.e. the outlet fragment of the ice-front’s course, but not in textural features of the sediments.
