The problems related to joining thin sheets of galvanized steel with aluminum alloy 5754 was presented in this article. The joints were made by low-energy CMT method at robotized set-up using filler metals on aluminum (AlSi5) and zinc (ZnAl15) matrix. The results of the visual and metallographic tests of overlap joints confirm their high quality, without any evidence of a zinc coating near the weld. The results of the shear strenght of overlap joints are also presented, depending on the type of used filler metals. Finally, the significant effect of the use of lower melting temperature filler metal to obtain joints with higher mechanical strenght was demonstrated.

Purpose: In this study, DP 600 (Dual Phase) steel plates having 1 mm thickness were joined by copper-based (CuAl8) wire in gas metal arc brazing technique. Specimens were prepared in joining forms as overlap joint. Design/methodology/approach: Brazing operations were done with five different working angles of 45°, 50°, 60°, 70° and 80°. CuAl8 wires composed largely of copper serves as the filler metal were used. Having accomplished the brazing operations; tensile properties of joints were detected, and micro and macro-structures of joints were investigated in order to see the joinability of DP 600 steel by gas metal arc brazing technique.

Purpose: In this study, the join ability of dual-phase automotive steel sheets by metal inert gas brazing method was aimed. DP 600 (Dual Phase) steel plate shaving 1 mm thickness were joined by copper-based (CuAl8) wire in gas metal arc brazing technique. Design/methodology/approach: Specimens were prepared in butt joint form. Brazing operations were done with nine different Brazing arc voltage of 10, 10.5, 11, 11.5, 12, 12.5, 13, 13.5and 14 V. A copper-based CuAl8 wire was used as filler metal. Having accomplished the brazing operations; tensile properties of joints were determined, and micro and macro-structures of joints were investigated in order to see the joinability of DP 600 steel by gas metal arc brazing technique. Originality/value: The tensile strength increased from 10 V to 12 V arc voltage and reached the maximum value as 640 MPa, and then decreased with increasing arc voltage.

In the paper results of metallographic analyses of joints made by MIG brazing on high strength galvanized steel sheets of H 340LAD + Z EN 10292 are presented. The quality of brazed joints made by SG CuAl8 braze with fluctuating welding rectifier CLOOS 303 MC4 was evaluated. Argon 4,80 was used as gaseous shield. Soldering joints quality was evaluated by destructive testing. The bearing capacity joints were evaluated by STN EN ISO 895 and STN EN 1321. Macrostructure and microstructure analyze of joints were realized too.
