Dolina Dolnego Jordanu rozciąga się miedzy Jeziorem Genezaret a Morzem Martwym. Na tym odcinku o długości 105 km wody Jordanu opadają o 207 m. Od zachodu granice doliny Jordanu stanowią góry Dolnej Galilei, Gilboa, Samarii oraz góry Pustyni Judzkiej. Od wschodu granicę doliny Jordanu określają góry Transjordanii. Od strony zachodniej do Jordanu wpływają rzeki Harod i Faria, a od wschodu Jarmuk, Jabis i Jabbok. Po wschodniej stronie Jordanu położone jest starożytne miasto Bet-Szean oraz najstarsze i najniżej położone miasto świata - Jerycho.

The Valley of the Lower Jordan stretches between the Sea of Genezaret and the Dead Sea. The distance between them is ca 105 km and the difference of the water level is 207 m. From the western side the valley is flanked by the mountains of Lower Galilea, mountains of Gilboa, mountains of Samaria and mountains of Judea Desert. On the eastern side the valley is limited by the Transjordania Mountains. The main rivers (wadis) from the western side are Harod and Faria, and from the eastern side Jarmuk, Jabis and Jabbok. On western side there are two very important and ancient towns: Bet-Szean and Jerycho which is the oldest and lowest situated town on our glob.
