Przedstawiono kierunki rozwoju radiowych szerokopasmowych systemów dostępowych powstających na podstawie standardów sieci bezprzewodowych. Pokazano rozwiązania istniejące, prace w komitetach normalizacyjnych mające na celu rozwój nowych standardów oraz nowe możliwości wykorzystania technik dostępowych. Przedstawiono pokrótce współczesne standardy łączności bezprzewodowej, zaprezentowano również perspektywy, które pojawiają się wraz z wprowadzaniem na szeroką skalę techniki bezprzewodowej wszędzie tam, gdzie dotychczas były stosowane wyłącznie techniki przewodowe.

In the article main directions of the broadband wireless access networks are presented. There are some investigations on new standards for wireless communications described. The current perspectives for wireless access systems are presented, especially introducing new possibilities for increasing applications of wireless broadband solutions.

The subject of this paper is the task of designing the LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution System) wireless broadband data transmission system. The methodology of statistical kernel estimators and fuzzy logic using operations research and mathematical programming is applied to find optimal locations for its basestations. A procedure which allows to obtain such locations on the basis of potential customer distribution and their expected demand, also in the cases of uncertain and non-stationary data, is investigated.

Opisano możliwe zastosowania radiowych systemów szerokopasmowych w sieci telekomunikacyjnej. Przedstawiono aktualne standardy w tej dziedzinie. Porównano właściwości interfejsów radiowych OFDM TDMA i CDMA. Podkreślono zalety interfejsu OFDM w tego rodzaju zastosowaniach.

This paper presents possible applications of wireless wideband systems in a telecommunication network. The up today standards in this field are presented. The properties of radio interface OFDM TDMA and CDMA types are compared. The advantage of OFDM in discussed applications are pointed out.

This paper presents the scheme of a software planing tool for single microcells of broadband radio access systems operating at millimeter waves, providing local multipoint distribution services (LMDS), particularly in urban or suburban areas. The aim of this planing tool is to provide operators with information, which supports the assessment of the profitability by calculating link budgets and the area coverage and by roughly estimating the maximum number of potential customers, i.e. the total number of households in a certain area, as well as the number of customers (households) which will actually be covered from a site. A household is here considered as a single apartment or flat, thus a building usually consists of several households. This novel household-estimation model is able to estimate the number of households based only on the 3D-data of buildings, without using residential data. Besides the optimization of line-of-sight (LOS) coverage, also the possibility is considered to enhance the coverage into shadowed areas by using optimized reflectors as passive repeaters up to distances of 1 km from the base station, depending on the system margin and the rain climate zone. All calculations are based on 3D-databases of both, buildings and vegetation.

Basic concept of radio local loop system (RLL) is presented. The requirements according to the ETSI specification, architecture of the system and typical services are discussed. The particular attention is focused on PMP and LMDS systems. For these radio local loop systems the standardisation status and examples of solutions are described.
