: The aim of the study was to assess static postural stability under fatigue in subjects with chronic ankle instability – “copers” in comparison with healthy controls. Methods: We conducted a prospective study on a group of 60 young, physically active subjects, divided into 3 groups: I – 14 subjects with unilateral ankle instability, II – 15 subjects with bilateral ankle instability, III – 31 healthy subjects, without ankle instability. The fatigue trial was based on modified Short-Term Fatigue Protocol. Static stabilography was performed with the use of HUR platform. Results: showed an increase in the value of COP trace length after fatigue test in study population I. The level of COP trace length Z before fatigue was significantly lower than after fatigue. Subjects from study population I had higher levels of COP trace length Z in comparison with the control group. The main effect for the group also proved to be significant. Study population I had higher levels of COP trace length Z in comparison with the control group. For the measurement after fatigue, there was significant difference only between the study population I and the control group. Conclusions: The incidence of structural ankle instability was not correlated with functional instability. Subjects with ankle instability, or “copers”, had good functional levels, enabling them to perform sports activities. “Copers” had weakened proprioception in static stabilography tests. Short and intense fatigue protocol weakened the ability to maintain balance in static stabilography test with eyes closed.

W sposób szczególny omówiono zasady pierwszej pomocy oraz zabezpieczenia podstawowych funkcji życiowych w ramach medycznych czynności ratunkowych podejmowanych przez zespoły ratownictwa medycznego.

In this study, the experiments on the sulfonate linear alkylbenzene (LAS) solution were performed using the methylene blue active substances (MBAS) method. The effectiveness of the sonochemical and photochemical reactors for LAS degradation was evaluated with an emphasis on the effect of the contact time, pH values, type of process and initial concentrations. The experiments were carried out at the initial concentrations of 0.5 mg/L, 14.00 mg/L and 21.00 mg/L, the contact time of 8, 16, and 24 minutes, pH of 3, 7, and 11, the ultrasonic frequency of 42 kHz, the acoustic power value of 160 W, an ultraviolet lamp with 150W power and the wavelength of 254 nm. This study showed that the LAS degradation was increased along with the contact time. In addition, at alkaline pH, the removal efficiency increased as well. Overall, the results obtained from this research demonstrated that by themselves, both the sonochemical and photochemical reactors may not be useful for completely reducing the complex wastewaters with high surfactant loads, but the succession of the UV/US process has a significant effect on the removal of anionic detergents. These findings demonstrated the removal efficiency under alkaline conditions and the contact time of 24 minutes was equal to 96.97 percent.

Correct determining the lithology of a rock formation is one of the main goals of geophysical interpretation. The application for analysis of borehole geophysical measurements encoded in Log ASCII Standard format files was created. Appropriate choice of geophysical parameters allows to determine the percentage volume of elements in the rock formation, as well as the porosity and the water saturation of the formation. For the precisest solution a conjugate gradient method with Monte Carlo starting points was used.

Badano adsorpcję surfaktantu anionowego LAS na osadzie czynnym pobranym z oczyszczalni ścieków w Swarzewie. Opracowano metodykę separacji i oznaczania surfaktantu w cieczy nadosadowej i w osadzie. Stwierdzono, że na osadzie adsorbuje się około 50—75% całej ilości surfaktantu, w roztworze pozostaje 6—12%, zaś straty wynikające z biodegradacji lub adsorpcji LAS na ściankach naczyń podczas procedury analitycznej stanowią od 25 do 32%.

Adsorption of LAS anionie surfactant on activated sludge was investigated. The procedure of separation and determination of LAS in supernatant and sludge was developed. It was found that 6 -12% of surfactant remained in supernatant, about 50 -75% was adsorbed on sludge flocks and 25-32% was lost, mainly due to biodegradation and adsorption in analytical vessels.
