Content available remote Opial and Pólya type inequalities via convexity

In this paper, we prove some new dynamic inequalities related to Opial and Pólya type inequalities on a time scale T. We will derive the integral and discrete inequalities of Polya’s type as special cases and also derive several classical integral inequalities of Opial’s type that has been obtained in the literature as special cases. The main results will be proved by using the chain rule, Hölder’s inequality and Jensen’s inequality, Taylor formula on time scales.

In this paper influence of burst packet loss on the quality of telephony speech signal in the packet network of Electric Power Utility (EPU) is calculated. Due to transients, the burst packet loss in EPU network is more probable than random packet loss. We can calculate the impairment factor in two ways: as the mean value of impairments in all nodes, or as the impairment for the mean value of burst duration in the network. Jensen's inequality is used to prove that the second method of calculation gives the pessimistic (conservative) estimate of the speech signal impairment.

W artykule analizuje się wpływ utraty pakietu na jakość telefonicznego sygnału w pakietowej sieci EPU. Rozerwanie pakietu jest bardziej prawdopodobne niż przypadkowa strata pakietu. Analizowano współczynnik zniekształcenia na dwa sposoby: jako średnia wartość zniekształceń we wszystkich węzłach lub średnia wartość trwania zniekształcenia.

In this paper, we give the answer to the question: are there conditions under which the effects of bursty and random errors on the bandwidths of signalling CCS No7 channel are equal? At first, we present the method that determines the characteristics (bandwidth, waiting time on message sending) of signalling CCS No7 channel under the influence of random errors and bursty errors. At the end we specify method that determines the conditions for an equal effect of random and bursty errors on the bandwidth of signalling channel.

W artykule próbuje się odpowiedzieć na pytanie: czy są warunki kiedy efekty błędów pogrupowania i przypadkowych w kanale komunikacyjnym CCS No7 są jednakowe? Zaproponowano metodę określania charakterystyki – pasma, czasu oczekiwania na wiadomość w zależności od błędów.

Strong convexity is considered for real functions defined on a real interval. Probabilistic characterization is given and its geometrical sense is explained. Using this characterization some inequalities of Jensen-type are obtained.

Models of fluid mechanics phenomena like the deflector of maximal drag or maximal lifting lead to maximization problems whose solutions are obtained using a method based on a Jensen inequality. The purpose of this paper is to point out the united character of tne given solutions. A scheme is derived for an unconstrained and for a constrained maximization problem, which is applied to four examples.
