IKT - Institute for Underground Infrastructure - presents its 14th annual LinerReport, based on 2,150 CIPP liner samples taken on sites for Quality Control purposes during 2017 and tested by the IKT CIPP Liner Test Centre. Still too many liners do not meet the requirements of all of the four IKT criteria. Often they pass some of the tests, yet they fail to pass all of them. Only the liners that succeed to meet all of the requirements should be considered really good products.

Został on oparty na badaniach przeprowadzonych na 1845 próbkach rękawów renowacyjnych, pobranych na budowach w 2016 r. Jak zwykle celem ich badania było skontrolowanie jakości. Wszystkie zostały przebadane w laboratoriach IKT. Badane próbki uzyskały świetne rezultaty w poszczególnych kategoriach, ale tylko jeden na czterech wykonawców otrzymał 100% w każdym z przeprowadzonych na próbkach testów. Mimo to tendencja wydaje się być zwyżkowa, skoro pięć lat temu takim wynikiem mogło pochwalić się 20% firm renowacyjnych.

IKT-Institute for Underground Infrastructure - presents its 13th annual LinerReport, based on 1,845 Cl PP liner samples taken on sites for Quality Control purposes during 2016 and tested by the IKT CIPP Liner Test Centre. Only one in four of the rehabilitation contractors succeeded in a 100% pass on all tests conducted on their samples, though overall results for the individual test criteria can be considered excellent. The report shows that the liner manufacturers need to assign importance to achieving even better quality.

Civil engineering structures are subject to the influence of many factors that have a direct effect on their life, without regard as to whether these structures are underground, on-ground, or overground. In order to determine their current technical state, a technical opinion or expertise supported by the results of laboratory tests must be developed. These expert opinions, the most reliable sources of information, make it possible to determine the technical state of a structure and to select the appropriate techniques for its renovation or preservation. Only correctly tests that are correctly performed in a laboratory that is appropriately equipped by experienced personnel guarantee that the obtained results will be reliable enough to help make the right decisions, which are often very difficult.

Dla technologii renowacji wykładziną rok 2011 był szczególny, gdyż właśnie wówczas upłynęło 40 lat od zaistnienia tej metody. W licznych wystąpieniach i publikacjach podkreślano okrągłą rocznicę. Rodzinę wykładzin renowacyjnych prezentowano z dumą, jako wiodącą technologię w naprawach uszkodzonych sieci kanalizacyjnych. Jak dalece w roku jubileuszowym wymagania pokrywały się z rzeczywistością, pokazuje przedstawiony poniżej ósmy już raport IKT - Instytutu Infrastruktury Podziemnej. Przywołuje on około 2100 próbek wykładzin, które w 2011 r. zostały pobrane na budowach i przebadane w laboratoriach IKT.

The year 2011 was special for the liner-based renovation technology, because it was the 40th anniversary of the introduction of this method. The eighth report of IKT (Institute for Underground Infrastructure) shows to what extent requirements translated into reality in the jubilee year. It refers to approx. 2,100 samples of liners that were taken in building sites in 2011 and analysed in IKT's laboratories. The lists included results of those renovation companies that delivered minimum 25 samples of liners from 5 different building sites for IKT tests. These requirements were met by 24 companies, which means there were 6 more than in the previous year. In 78% of cases, the order for testing of liner samples was placed by investors or engineering companies supervising building sites, whereas 22% of orders were placed directly by contractors.

All in all, 2010 test results at a high level. Water-tightness again better, statics characteristics still good. Only the wall thickness results are poorer than last year. This seventh IKT - Institute for Underground Infrastructure LinerReport is based on just on 1,300 tube liner samples taken at construction sites during 2010 and tested at the IKT Tube Liner Test Center. The results presented here are those achieved by installation contractors from whom IKT has tested not less than twenty-five liner samples from five different sites. Eighteen contractors fulfill this requirement, three more than last year. Two installation contractors work only in the Netherlands, and are indicated by "(NL)" in the tables. In 81% of cases, the clients (or their engineering consultancies) commissioned IKT directly for laboratory testing of liner samples, which were, as noted, taken on site. 19% of the assignments were commissioned by the installation contractors themselves.

Lining repair systems are less and less defective. Especially leak proof test results are much better. A change in a certain test mode may, in this case, be a fairly significant issue. The 6th Report on applied lining repair systems, presented by IKT, based on 1,200 samples, collected at various building sites during 2009. The samples were tested at IKT laboratories. The results of those tests were presented in specifications included in further parts of the report, taking into account the results for those repair companies, which had delivered at least 25 lining samples for tests at IKT from five (5) different building sites. That criterion was met by 15 companies.

Na rynku rękawów CIPP od jakiegoś czasu toczy się żywa dyskusja dotycząca jakości oferowanych produktów. Spór ten jest najgorętszy od ponad 25 lat, które minęły od wprowadzenia tej technologii renowacyjnej na rynek niemiecki. Nie jest to dziwne jeżeli weźmie się pod uwagę fakt, że rękawy stały się wiodącą metodą renowacyjną dla przewodów kanalizacyjnych. Technologia CIPP bezpośrednio konkuruje z metodą wymiany rurociągów i udało jej się osiągnąć znaczący udział w rynku (ok. 20% całego rynku i ok. 80% rynku renowacyjnego). Sukces ten był możliwy między innymi dlatego, że oprócz innych zalet metoda ta zapewnia rurociągowi właściwości i trwałość porównywalne do tych, jakie daje nowa instalacja, jednak w wielu przypadkach przy znacznie niższych kosztach.

The cured-in-place liner market has, for some time, been experiencing an intensive debate on quality. A good twenty-five years after the introduction of this renewal technology in Germany, discussion is livelier than ever. This is not surprising, when one remembers that tube lining has become established as the leading renovation method for waste-water conduits. The CIPP technology competes directly with pipe replacement and has now managed to capture a highly respectable market share (around 20% of the overall market, and some 80% of the renovation market). This success story has been made possible, among other factors, by the fact that it provides customers with properties and service-lives equivalent to those of new pipes, but in most cases at lower cost.

The independent and neutral IKT Test Center for Pipe Liners now submits, for the third time, its IKT-LinerReport. This paints for 2006 a differentiated picture based on test results obtained from more than one thousand on-site samples. Industry experts are increasingly questioning which are the best liner types and the best pipe lining methods. Two "families" of technologies compete in the marketplace: Tube liners employing glass-fiber, and those employing needle-felt, as the support material. It is no surprise that the various manufacturers emphasize only the benefits of their own systems. But what are the facts? What results are actually achieved on the building site? The IKT-LinerReport 2006 provides answers to these questions on the basis of laboratory results obtained by the independent and neutral IKT Test Center for Pipe Liners.

IKT – Instytut Infrastruktury Podziemnej po raz drugi przedstawia statystyczne opracowanie swojej bazy danych dotyczącej rękawów. Zasadniczym celem raportu jest przedstawienie przejrzystych danych na temat jakości wykonywanych renowacji z użyciem technologii rękawa. W ciągu 18 miesięcy, jakie minęły od czasu publikacji pierwszego LinerReport (raportu na temat rękawów) (IB [13] 1/2006), nie tylko ustaliły się pewne trendy, ale także zaobserwowano rozwój tych technologii. IKT LinerReport (Raport Jakości Rękawów) z przełomu lat 2003/2004 stanowił pierwszą statystyczną ocenę jak różne mogą być w praktyce efekty rehabilitacji. Baza danych dotyczących rękawów została wzbogacona o wyniki testów w okresie między lipcem 2004 a grudniem 2005. Na tej podstawie można zauważyć, że jakość rehabilitacji jest coraz wyższa.

The IKT presents for the second time a statistical evaluation of its tube liner database. The objective is enhanced transparency in rehabilitation quality matters. In the 18 months that have passed since the first LinerReport was published, some trends have established themselves and new developments have appeared. The IKT LinerReport 2003/2004 statistically documented for the first time how rehabilitation performances vary in practice. The IKT tube liner database has now evaluated for the period July 2004 to December 2005. It shows that the rehabilitation quality range continues to widen.
