Połączenia spawane w konstrukcjach stalowych stanowią newralgiczne punkty pod względem obliczania ich wytrzymałości zmęczeniowej. Dotychczasowe metody obliczeń złącz spawanych uwzględniały tylko naprężenia występujące w przekrojach całych elementów i nie brały pod uwagę koncentracji naprężeń występujących w pobliżu spoiny spowodowanych geometrycznymi aspektami detalu. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono podejście lokalne tzw.„hot spot approach” do wyznaczania obciążeń w połączeniach spawanych.

Fatigue analysis of welded joints and components has usually been based on nominal stress range. The so–colled hot spot approach goes one step forward. Here the calculated stress takes the dimension of the detail better into account. This calculated stress at the anticipated crack initiation site is called the structural hot spot stress. Structural stress include the membrane stress concentration and shell bending stressed caused by the detail itself but not include the non – linear stress peak caused by the local notch at the weld toe. Hot spot stress might be resolved by analytical or numerical methods or can be determined by experimental methods using a strain gauge. This article focuses on stress distribution at the weld toe through the thickness of welded detail and method of evaluating structural stress.
