This paper presents modified Gurney formulas determining velocities of the explosive-driven metal plates which are parts of a flat asymmetric sandwich (AS). The modification takes into account a linear profile of the detonation products velocity in the Eulerian coordinates and a change of their density in terms of expansion time. Such variations of the parameters of the detonation products as the above are compatible with a conventional dynamic gas theory, and describes the dynamics of the detonation products behaviour during launching the plates from AS.

Using analytic solutions for one-dimensional plane boundary value problems related to the launching of solids by detonation products (DPs) of high explosives, algebraic formulae which define the displacement and velocity of a metal plate launched by expanding DPs from an openfaced sandwich (OFS) are derived. In addition, the variations of the mechanical parameters of displacement, velocity and density versus the Lagrangian coordinate of expanding DPs gases during the launching of the metal plate from the OFS are defined. Variations of these mechanical parameters are also described by algebraic formulae. From analysis of the obtained results, it follows that Gurney’s assumptions of the linear velocity profile of constant – density DPs gases significantly deviates from conventional theory of gas dynamics. Gurney’s assumptions introduce a serious error of estimated metal plate velocity (about several dozen percent).

Rozwiązano w zamkniętej postaci zagadnienie początkowej fazy rozwoju przeciwbieżnego napędzania mas skupionych M1 i M2 za pomocą skomprymowanych produktów detonacji ładunku wysokoenergetycznego materiału wybuchowego. Stwierdzono, że stosowanie wzorów Gurneya do szacowania początkowej prędkości napędzania elementów wkładki kumulacyjnej jest obarczone stosunkowo dużym błędem. Wynika to z liniowej aproksymacji rozkładu prędkości przepływu produktów detonacji w funkcji współrzędnej Langrange’a. Przybliżenie to można stosować w przypadku gdy M1 = M2 ≥ m, gdzie m oznacza masę materiału wybuchowego. Warunek ten w amunicji kumulacyjnej, szczególnie w głowicach z ciężką obudową i cienką wkładką nie jest spełniony.
