The article provides a description of the museum of natural history and game management in Białowieża Primeval Forest. Just before the outbreak of World War I the Czar's administrators of the Forest decided to create a museum in Białowieża, then the centre of Czar's private hunting reserve. The museum was scheduled to open in the summer of 1914 on the occasion of the Czar's visit to Białowieża. This visit never took place, due to the outbreak of war. The exhibition catalogue was never finished, nor was it published. The Russians evacuated the collection to Moscow. Mitrofan Golenko, the last head forester of the Bialowieża Primeval Forest during the period of Czar's reign, found himselfin exile in France. He published a description of the museum in the Russian emigre review " Vozdrozdenie" (no. 3609, 21 April 1935). To this day, his article is the onIy known description of that museum.
