W artykule przedstawiono wyniki pomiarów spektrofotometrycznych (metodą „Stopped-Flow") kinetyki reakcji redoks pomiędzy chlorkowymi kompleksami złota ([AuCI4]-) i kwasem mrówkowym. Otrzymane dane doświadczalne wskazują na złożony charakter reakcji prowadzący do powstania kompleksów złota(l) ([AUCI2]-) oraz kompleksów chlorkowo-mrówczanowych [AuCI3(COOH)]- jako produktów reakcji. Reakcja jest stosunkowo szybka (stała szybkości reakcji II rzędu w temperaturze 50 °C wynosi 23,03 M-1 s-1) i zależy m.in. od temperatury, stężenia reagentów i siły jonowej elektrolitu. W wyniku przeprowadzonych dyskusji i analiz, zaproponowano schemat drogi reakcji oraz wyznaczono entalpię i entropię aktywacji badanej reakcji chemicznej.

In this work, the result of spectrophotometric studies (using "Stopped-Flow method") of kinetics of redox reaction of gold(lll) chloride complexes ([AuCI4]-) with formic acid, are presented. Obtained data indicate the complex character of the reaction which leads to the gold(l) chloride (as a [AuCI2]-) and gold(lll) chloride-formate (as a [AuCI3(COOH)]-]) ions formation as a product of the reaction. The redox reaction is relatively fast with the second-order rate constant equal to 23.03 M-1s-1 at temperature 50 °C. The rate of the studied reaction depends on the temperature, reactants concentration and ionic strength of electrolyte. As a result of the analysis and discussion, the scheme of the reaction path has been suggested. Also, the values of enthalpy and entropy of activation for the chemical reaction have been determined.
