W artykule opisano zalecaną przez UIC metodę pomiaru pokrycia radiowego dla systemu GSM-R, który jest bazą do poprawnej transmisji danych na potrzeby systemu ETCS. Przeanalizowano najważniejsze zasady pomiaru pokrycia pola radiowego według tej metody. Zdaniem autorów artykułu, przyjęta przez UIC metoda pomiaru ma wiele mankamentów i dlatego autorzy proponują inną metodę pomiaru pokrycia radiowego do transmisji danych w systemie GSM-R.

The article presents the UIC recommended radio coverage measurement method in GSM-R system, which is the basis for correct data transmission for ETCS needs. The most important principles of this method for radio frequency coverage are analysed. According to the authors, the measurement method adopted by the UIC has many shortcomings and therefore they propose another method of measuring radio coverage for data transmission in the GSM-R system.

W artykule zostały przedstawione wybrane problemy dotyczące migracji pomiędzy systemem radiołączności VHF 150 MHz, a standardem GSM-R, które będą jednocześnie eksploatowane w polskim kolejnictwie. Przeprowadzono analizę kolejowej sygnałów alarmowych RADIOSTOP w sieci radiołączności VHF 150 MHz. Scharakteryzowano usługę kolejowego połączenia alarmowego REC w systemie GSM-R. Następnie mówiono problemy techniczne generowanie sygnałów alarmowych w okresie migracji systemów. Oprócz problemów związanych z aspektem technicznym połączenia obu sygnałów alarmowych przeanalizowano też zagadnienia wynikające z ich zasięgu radiowego.

This paper presents some problems concerning migration between VHF 150 MHz radio communication system and GSM-R standard, which will be simultaneously operated in the Polish railways. An analysis of alarm signals RADIOSTOP rail network at VHF 150 MHz radio communication. Railway service was characterized by REC emergency call for GSM-R. Then it was said technical problems generating alarm systems during the migration period. In addition to the problems associated with the technical aspect of the merger of the two alarm signals also analyzed issues arising from their radio coverage.

W artykule zostały przedstawione wybrane problemy dotyczące eksploatacji systemu GSM-R wdrażanego w polskim kolejnictwie. Przeprowadzono analizę kolejowej radiołączności z uwzględnieniem dostępnych usług w cyfrowej telefonii komórkowej GSM-R. Scharakteryzowano proces użytkowania umożliwiający realizację usług i funkcji w analizowanym systemie GSM-R. Następnie będą omówiono procesy wspomagające zarządzanie procesem eksploatacji, obejmujące działalność diagnostyczną i badawczą. Został także opisany wpływ procesów utrzymania elementów systemu GSM-R na jego bezpieczeństwo teleinformatyczne. W końcowej części przedstawione zostały mechanizmy, których wdrożenie pozwoli na usprawnienie eksploatacji i utrzymaniem sieci GSM-R.

This paper will present some problems relating to the operation of GSM-R system implemented in the Polish railways. Will be carried out analysis of the digital train GSM-R mobile phones with regard to the available services and how to achieve them and characterized the process of use allowing realization of services and functions in the reporting system, GSM-R. Then will be discussed the processes supporting the management of exploitation process, including diagnostic and research activities. It will be also described the impact of processes of maintenance of elements of GSM-R on its ICT security. In the final part will be presented mechanisms, the implementation of which will allow to improve the exploitation and maintenance of GSM-R network.

The paper presents the selected issues concerning the migration between the VHF 150 MHz communication and the GSM-R standard, which will be operated in the Polish railway industry at the same time. The analysis of the RADIOSTOP railway alarm signals in the VHF 150 MHz radio communication network was conducted. The service of the REC emergency call in the GSM-R system was characterised. Then, the technical problems related to the generation of alarm signals in the migration period were described. In addition to the problems associated with the technical aspect of connection of both alarm signals, the issues resulted from their radio range were analysed. Emergency call service REC / e-REC in the GSM-R system, analysis and assessment of the implementation of the emergency call function during the migration period, phases of the REC emergency call, railway emergency call service, generation of the alarm signals during the migration of systems, differences in the range of the GSM-R and VHF 150 MHz systems, implementation of GSM-R on the entire railway line are presented in the paper.

W zakresie bezpieczeństwa telekomunikacyjnego omówiono metody oraz mechanizmy pozwalające zapewnić wymagany poziom niezawodności i dostępności sieci GSM-R, zarówno w jej części radiowej, jak i przewodowej, w trybie pracy bezusterkowej i w trybie awaryjnym. Zwrócono uwagę na wpływ sposobu eksploatacji i utrzymania na bezpieczeństwo systemu GSM-R, a także powiązania bezpieczeństwa systemu z kulturą bezpieczeństwa w gremiach administracyjno-decyzyjnych.

The paper presents the selected items affecting the reliability and safety of the network of digital mobile GSM-R. In the domain of telecommunications safety are discussed selected methods and mechanisms to ensure the required level of reliability and availability of GSM-R network in both parts of radio and wired in faultless mode and emergency mode. The paper highlights the influence of the method of exploitation and maintenance on the safety of GSM-R system as well as system safety ties with the culture of safety in the administrative and the decision-making bodies.

Particular attention was paid to some problems related to ensuring security of information transmission in services provided by GSM-R network. There are analyzed the most important issues affecting the security of the radio interface as well as elements directly related to it. Ostatnie doświadczenia po raz kolejny potwierdziły, że niedostateczny rozwój kolejowej infrastruktury transportowej jest nie tylko czynnikiem hamującym rozwój kraju, ale może być źródłem tragicznych w skutkach wypadków kolejowych. Polityka transportowa była i jest ukierunkowana na realizację pojedynczych celów krótkookresowych, charakteryzuje się brakiem wizji rozwoju i podejścia systemowego. W konsekwencji prowadzi to do akceptacji niskich standardów, nawet na liniach modernizowanych.
