W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań nad zastosowaniem widma trzeciego rzędu do analizy sygnałów akustycznych generowanych w trakcie spawania. Widma wyższych rzędów w przeciwieństwie do powszechnie stosowanego widma mocy sygnału zachowują informację o zależnościach fazowych i pozwalają w pełni scharakteryzować niestabilności procesu spawania, co potwierdzają przeprowadzone badania.

The article presents results of research on the application of third-order spectrum to analysis of the acoustic signal of welding proces. Higher spectrum in contrast to the commonly used power spectrum retain dependency information phase and allow you to fully characterize the instability of the welding process which is confirmed by studies carried out.

The article presents results of research on the application of third-order spectrum to analysis of the welding voltage signals. Higer-order spectra in contrast to the commonly used power spectrum carry information phase and allow to fully characterize the instability of the welding process which is confirmed by studies carried out.

Using the pad welding technique it is possible to regenerate machine parts or improve surface properties such as abrasion, corrosion and aging resistance. The regeneration process with the use of pad welding can be performed using the same equipment, which we use for welding. Metals and their alloys with required properties in the form of wire, rod or powder are selected for the additional material. To ensure optimum processing conditions and economic efforts should be made, while providing a high deposition efficiency for the small amount of metal in the pad weld substrate. The pad welding process for the test subject should be carried out by preheating to evaporate the moisture and reduce the porosity of the weld. This treatment is required depending on the carbon equivalent. This article is an introduction to a series of investigations that will allow you to choose the best parameters of pad welding GMA (gas metal arc) method, steel C45E with wire CASTOMAG 4554S. Steel samples were prepared and preheated to 300°C. Using the orthogonal experiment plan, the influence of selected parameters on the geometry and depth of fusion was determined. The analysis was based on current and wire feed speed. The test was carried out for three current values: 60, 75, 90 A and wire feed rate of 1.5, 2, 2.5 m/min. The purpose of the analysis was to select appropriate technological parameters. Obtaining the smallest share of the base material in the weld pad and impact assessment parameters for welding seam geometries. For the analysis of the results of multiple regression was used.

Analyses based on FEM calculations have significantly changed the possibilities of determining welding strains and stresses at early stages of product design and welding technology development. Such an approach to design enables obtaining significant savings in production preparation and post-weld deformation corrections and is also important for utility properties of welded joints obtained. As a result, it is possible to make changes to a simulated process before introducing them into real production as well as to test various variants of a given solution. Numerical simulations require the combination of problems of thermal, mechanical and metallurgical analysis. The study presented involved the SYSWELD software-based analysis of GMA welded multipass butt joints made of duplex steel sheets. The analysis of the distribution of stresses and displacements were carried out for typical welding procedure as during real welding tests.

Purpose: This study aims to examine the interaction between process parameters and bead geometry, to perform the research to predict optimal bead geometry (bead width, reinforcement height, left leg length, right leg length) through the analysis of experimental data. For this, not only linear and the curvilinear equations were developed to predict bead geometry, but also interactions between process parameters and bead geometry were analysed through sensitivity analysis. Design/methodology/approach: A Taguchi method was applied for the optimization of process parameters, as well as bead geometry was predicted using a Neural Networks (LM) learning algorithm. Findings: The data generated through experimental studies conducted in this study has employed to validate its effectiveness for the optimization of bead geometry on process parameters (welding current, welding voltage, welding speed), and to present the criteria to control the process parameters to achieve a good bead geometry. Research limitations/implications: By applying Taguchi method, process parameters (welding current, welding voltage, welding speed) and bead geometry (bead width, reinforcement height, leg length) were analysed. Originality/value: This study has developed mathematical models and algorithms to predict or control the bead geometry in GMA fillet welding process, and analysed the S/N ratio to which Taguchi theory was applied for sensibly to the process parameters.

Content available remote Abrasive and erosive wear resistance of GMA metal cored wire cermetal deposits

Purpose: Purpose of these researches was to determine influence of GMA metal cored wire surfacing parameters on the abrasive and erosive wear resistance of the one layer and three layer weave bead cermetal deposits. Design/methodology/approach: One layer and three layer wave bead deposits were GMA surfaced using metal cored wire (nickel based - 54%WC) 1.6 [mm] dia. To determine quality of deposits Visual Inspection, MT examinations, hardness HRC and HV10 measurements on the ground surface of deposits, macrostructure and microstructure observations, abrasive and erosion wear resistance tests were done. Findings: Hardness of deposits tested is in the range from 453-517 HV 10(44.5-47.9 HRC) and is a function of the value of heat input of surfacing. WC carbides population density, size and distribution in nickel alloy matrix of deposits tested is a function of GMA heat input of surfacing. Low heat input of surfacing insures uniform distribution of WC carbides on the cross section of deposits. The low heat input GMA surfaced weave bead deposits provide 10 times higher abrasion wear resistance and 4.2 times higher erosion wear resistance than HARDOX 400 steel plate. Research limitations/implications: Results of this paper is to increase quality of GMA cermetal deposits. Originality/value: Hardness of deposits can not be treated as the abrasion and erosion wear resistance indicator.

Purpose: of this paper: Study of abrasive wear resistance of robotized GMA surfaced cermetal deposits. The one-, two-and three layers stringer bead and weave bead deposits were surfaced by a metal-cored wire. Design/methodology/approach: The study were based on the analysis of deposits dilution, structure, measurements of hardness and microhardness, determination of WC carbide morphology and abrasive wear resistance type metal-ceramic according to ASTM G65. Findings: It was found that robotized GMA surfacing process with EnDOtec DO*11 wire of diameter 1,6 [mm], with oscillation of the welding torch, can be applied for producing high quality of deposits in a wide range of surfacing parameters especially heat input. The abrasive wear resistance of stringer bead deposits is significantly higher compared with weave bead deposits. The weave bead deposits are free of transverse cracks, contrary to stringer beads. This phenomenon can be explained by different thermal stresses in the deposits. Research limitations/implications: It was found that further investigations and detailed studies are required to identify the mechanism of deposit shaping, especially the control of dilution, shape of fusion zone and penetration depth, depending on parameters of surfacing and the trajectory and parameters of oscillation of the surfacing GMA torch. Practical implications: The technology can be applied for wear plates manufacturing . Originality/value: Improve of the wear resistance of wear plates.

Purpose: Purpose of this paper: Study of robotized GMA metal-cored wire surfacing of one-, two- and three layers stringer bead and weave bead deposits has been carried out. Design/methodology/approach: The dilution of deposits, structure, hardness, WC carbide morphology and abrasive wear resistance type metal-ceramic as per ASTM G65, was determined. Findings: It was shown that the abrasive wear resistance of stringer bead deposits is higher than weave bead deposits. Study of robotized GMA surfacing process with EnDOtec DO*11 wire of diameter 1.6 [mm], applying weaving (oscillation) technique of surfacing, showed that it is possible to produce high quality of deposits in a wide range of surfacing parameters (heat input). Contrary to stringer bead deposits, weave bead deposits are transverse cracks free which can be caused by thermal stresses in the deposits. Research limitations/implications: The mechanism of deposit formation (shaping), especially the control of dilution, shape of fusion zone and penetration depth, depending on parameters of surfacing and the trajectory and parameters of oscillation of the surfacing torch demands further investigations and detailed studies. Practical implications: The technology can be applied for wear plates manufacturing. Originality/value: Improve of the wear resistance of wear plates.

Zaproponowano kryteria oceny parametrów statycznych badanych sygnałów oraz skuteczności działania z wykorzystaniem sztucznej sieci neuronowej. Wyniki badań potwierdziły możliwość wykrycia braku osłony łuku na podstawie analizy rejestrowanych cyfrowo parametrów spawania.
