W 2009 roku w Zakładzie Akustyki Technicznej, Techniki Laserowej i Radiometrii w Głównym Instytucie Górnictwa rozpoczęto prace nad utworzeniem stanowiska do badań właściwości elektrostatycznych wyrobów. Dziś pracownia ta wykonuje badania i pomiary właściwości antystatycznych wyrobów i urządzeń dla odbiorców rynkowych. Oferowane metody badawcze zgodne są z polskimi i europejskimi normami. W pracowni prowadzone są również badania naukowe z zakresu ochrony przed wyładowaniami elektrostatycznymi (ElectroStatic Discharge - ESD). Głównym elementem stanowiska do badań jest komora klimatyczna.

In 2009 in the Department of Acoustics Technology, Laser Technology and Radiometry of the Central Mining Institute the works were started on establishing of the stand to study electrostatic properties of the products. The Laboratory performs tests and measurements of antistatic properties of products and devices for market customers. The research methods offered are in accordance with Polish and European standards. The lab also conducts research works in the field of protection against electrostatic discharge - ESD. A climatic chamber is the main element of the stand for the concerned research.

W artykule opisano dwie metody badań dynamicznych właściwości elektrostatycznych. Pierwszą z metod jest badanie czasu zaniku ładunku z monitora naładowanej płyty (CPM - Charged Plate Monitor), natomiast druga to nanoszenie ładunku na badany obiekt z symulatora wyładowań skonstruowanego w Głównym Instytucie Górnictwa oraz badanie zachowania się tego ładunku. Opisano badania zrealizowane w Głównym Instytucie Górnictwa. Obiektami były modele układu człowiek - obuwie - podłoga w konfiguracji z różnym typem obuwia.

The article describes two methods of testing of dynamic, electrostatic properties. The first method consists in investigating the charge decay time from the Charged Plate Monitor (CPM), while the second one rests with applying the load onto the tested object from a discharge simulator constructed in the Central Mining Institute and study of the behavior of the load. The studies carried out in the CMI have been described. The models with the arrangement of a human being, footwear and the floor, in configuration with different types of footwear have been the objects of the studies.

Główny Instytut Górnictwa w Katowicach (GIG) jest jednostką badawczo-rozwojową, która pracuje nie tylko na rzecz przemysłu górniczego, ale również dla reprezentujących inne gałęzie przemysłu przedsiębiorstw, instytucji, urzędów administracji państwowej i samorządowej. Obszar prowadzonych badań obejmuje górnictwo oraz inżynierię i ochronę środowiska, istotne są również zagadnienia związane z jakością oraz edukacja i szkolenia. GIG aktywnie uczestniczy w europejskich projektach badawczych i sieciach naukowych, inicjuje i realizuje innowacyjne tematy badawcze. Przedmiotem referatu jest przedstawienie kryteriów gromadzenia źródeł informacji w Bibliotece Naukowej GIG (materiałów bibliotecznych oraz baz danych) skorelowanych z usługami informacyjnymi wspomagającymi badania naukowe.

The Central Mining Institute in Katowice is a research and development unit, working for the benefit of not only the mining industry, but also for companies representing other industries, institutions, governmental and self-governmental authorities. The range of its research covers mining and environmental engineering and protection; however, quality-related issues, education and trainings are also important. The Central Mining Institute is an active participant in European research projects and scientific networks, it initiates and implements innovative research topics. The subject of the study is the presentation of criteria of collecting information sources in the Scientific Library of the Central Mining Institute (library materials and databases) correlated with information services supporting scientific research.

Integracja Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej z Unią Europejską spowodowała konieczność dostosowania działalności większości podmiotów gospodarczych do nowych standardów funkcjonowania. Dotyczy to również jednostek badawczo-rozwojowych, szczególnie tych zajmujących się kwestiami badań i oceną zgodności wyrobów. Obszar ten wymaga wdrożenia legislacji europejskiej, a szczególnie dyrektyw nowego podejścia i związanych z nimi norm zharmonizowanych. Dostosowanie prowadzonej działalności do wymagań Unii Europejskiej jest nie tylko warunkiem skutecznego funkcjonowania tych jednostek, ale również ma duże znaczenie dla podmiotów gospodarczych korzystających z ich usług. Możliwość wykonywania w kraju badań i otrzymywania certyfikatów uznawanych przez kraje członkowskie wspólnoty jest jednym z warunków swobodnego przepływu towarów i tym samym rozwoju gospodarczego kraju.

The specific character of air forces results in the fact that the training process is long and expensive. Transformations of organisational structures, command procedures, military equipment and military education, which took place in the last decades, influenced the functioning of air force personnel. In consequence, there appeared their high fluctuation and problems related to air force combat capabilities. In the new reality the air force personnel perform a number of tasks both in Poland and abroad. Great air force saturation with the state-of-the-art technology and personnel’s high specialisation make their selection and education crucial. Using the potential of air force equipment largely depends on the personnel’s qualifications and their attitude to work Broad and progressive automation causes the increase of demands towards them. Therefore the air force future combines their excellent equipment, high mobility and also high level of the personnel’s professionalism.

W 2005 roku Główny Instytut Górnictwa obchodzi podwójny jubileusz. Pierwszy związany z 60-leciem jego powstaniem - w dniu 16 kwietnia 1945 roku oraz drugi związny z 80-leciem Kopalni Doświadczalnej "Barbara". Historia Głównego Instytutu Górnictwa to praca kilku pokoleń jego pracowników, którzy często oddali tej instytucji swoje najlepsze, twórcze lata życia. Ich zaangażowanie, osobiste dokonania i sukcesy tworzyły zarówno materialny, jak i niematerialny, dorobek Instytutu. Inicjatywa powołania Instytutu związana jest przede wszystkim z Profesorem Bolesławem Krupińskim. W artykule scharakteryzowano GIG, podając dane ogólne, omawiając podstawowe obszary badawcze, przekrój naukowy pracowników, działalność marketingową i naukową, w tym współpracę z zagranicą. Główny Instytut Górnictwa swoje szanse rozwojowe w najbliższych dziesięcioleciach widzi jako europejski instytut, o statusie Państwowego Instytutu Badawczego, który będzie wiodący w obszarze geoinżynierii.

In 2005 Central Mining Institute (CMI) celebrates a double jubilee. The first one is connected with its 60Ih anniversary of foundation - on 16 April 1945 and the second one connected with the 80* anniversary of the Experimental Minę .Barbara". The history of the Central Mining Institute comprises the works of several generations of its employees who, very often, devoted their best, creative years to this institution. Their engagement, personal achievements and success contribute to both the, materiał and non-material wealth of the Institute,The initiative of establishment of the Institute was mostly connected with Professor 'Bolesław Krupiński. The article characterises CMI providing generał data, discussing basie research spheres, scientific cross-section of the employees, marketing and scientific activity including co-operation with abroad. Central Mi-ning Institute sees its development chances in oncoming decades as an European I Institute of the status of a State Research Institute which will be a leading one in the sphere of geoengineering.
