Purpose: The aim of the article is to compare the results of effective portfolios obtained after the initial selection using multi-criteria methods with the results of the market portfolio. Design/methodology/approach: When selecting a long-term portfolio, a fundamental analysis can be used to assess a company's economic and financial condition. This analysis is based on fundamental and market indicators. By treating selected indicators as evaluation criteria, the problem can be considered as a multi-criteria problem. In the analyses the TOPSIS methods were used (standard and fuzzy one), which enabled the approach to the issue in a non-standard way. Findings: Three effective portfolios were determined: two of them were obtained after the initial selection of companies using selected multi-criteria methods, the third was generated from the set of all considered companies. The results of these portfolios, estimated for the whole of 2018, were compared with the market portfolio represented by the WIG20 index. The analysis showed that including the fuzzy approach when selecting a portfolio, it is possible to construct more profitable portfolios compared to the market portfolio. Research limitations/implications: The problem requires further research to confirm the recommendations made. Practical implications: Using the proposed approach, we can methodically build more profitable portfolios than the market portfolio. Originality/value: The values of criterion assessments from selected years were treated as triangular fuzzy numbers – this enabled the use of fuzzy approach and the selection of portfolios more attractive than the market one. The study may be of interest to stock market investors.

Meeting the required quality level of products taking into account customer requirements is the essence of thriving enterprises. In this context, it is necessary to make decisions that take into account mentioned the quality level but also the cost aspect relevant to both customer and producer. It was concluded that it is possible to make analyse in which connected the quality level with the cost aspect will condition the make the best choice. Therefore, the aim of work was to propose the pro-quality method of choice by using the ordered fuzzy numbers connected with cost-quality analysis (AKJ). The subject of the study were machines used in pad printing technique, so-called pad print, which choice resulted from their problematic choice to specific and often variable working conditions. As part of the method by using ordered fuzzy numbers, using the Fuzzy TOPSIS method (The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) the most favorable machine by quality was determined. Subsequently, a pro-quality machine choice was made, and this choice combined the obtained quality level with the purchase cost through the use of cost-quality analysis. The proposed method is some kind of new approach to making the best decision, where the aspect of quality with the cost was connected. Therefore, the proposed method can be used to solve different types of decision problems in production and services enterprises.

Individual career planning plays a key role in achieving success, goals, and ideals in professional life. However, managing to accomplish such favorable results depends on the correct decisions of graduates to choose suitable job opportunities. Oceangoing watchkeeping officers, who are responsible for the management and administration of vessels at sea, have several job options which are differentiated by vessel type, such as; bulk carriers, chemical tankers, general cargo ships, and container ships, etc. This study aims to discuss the criteria that Turkish oceangoing watchkeeping officers take into consideration and the values they attribute to such criteria regarding their vessel type preference. The aim is to provide instructions to oceangoing watchkeeping officer candidates and academicians who are interested in these issues and related parties of maritime industry. Attribution values of the criteria are determined by means of Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the most preferred alternative vessel type is revealed through Fuzzy TOPSIS methodology. According to the study results, the most important factors are; revenue, perception of occupational health and safety, and labor work density. The most preferred ship type among alternatives is the oil tanker.

This paper focuses on evaluating airline service quality from the perspective of passengers' view. Until now a lot of researches has been performed in airline service quality evaluation in the world but a little research has been conducted in Iran, yet. In this study, a framework for measuring airline service quality in Iran is proposed. After reviewing airline service quality criteria, SSQAI model was selected because of its comprehensiveness in covering airline service quality dimensions. SSQAI questionnaire items were redesigned to adopt with Iranian airlines requirements and environmental circumstances in the Iran's economic and cultural context. This study includes fuzzy decision-making theory, considering the possible fuzzy subjective judgment of the evaluators during airline service quality evaluation. Fuzzy TOPSIS have been applied for ranking airlines service quality performances. Three major Iranian airlines which have the most passenger transfer volumes in domestic and foreign flights were chosen for evaluation in this research. Results demonstrated Mahan airline has got the best service quality performance rank in gaining passengers' satisfaction with delivery of high-quality services to its passengers, among the three major Iranian airlines. IranAir and Aseman airlines placed in the second and third rank, respectively, according to passenger's evaluation. Statistical analysis has been used in analyzing passenger responses. Due to the abnormality of data, Non-parametric tests were applied. To demonstrate airline ranks in every criterion separately, Friedman test was performed. Variance analysis and Tukey test were applied to study the influence of increasing in age and educational level of passengers on degree of their satisfaction from airline's service quality. Results showed that age has no significant relation to passenger satisfaction of airlines, however, increasing in educational level demonstrated a negative impact on passengers' satisfaction with airline's service quality.

The paper presents a new weather routing solution fully supporting multicriteria optimisation process of route finding. The solution incorporates two multicriteria optimisation methods, namely multicriteria evolutionary algorithm (SPEA) and multicriteria ranking method (Fuzzy TOPSIS). The paper focuses on presenting the proposed multicriteria evolutionary weather routing algorithm (MEWRA). Furthermore, it includes some experiment results together with a short description of the assumed ship model.
