The rapid growth of private schools in Poland that took place at the end of the 90s and the huge increase in the number of students entering public universities has created an urgent need to set up appropriate mechanisms to ensure and evaluate the quality of university education. This paper shows selected European international systems for evaluating education quality, e.g. EQUIS, SECAI, CRE. The final part of the paper gives a comparative analysis of the mentioned systems of evaluation education quality and the ISO 9001:2000 standard.
