The purpose of this article is a brief overview of current methods of evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the organizations focused on continuous improvement of processes and products. It is also intended to indicate the method or group of methods for the assessment of the most relevant companies operating within the formal system of management quality.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest krótki przegląd obecnie stosowanych metod oceny skuteczności i efektywności organizacji zorientowanych na ciągłe doskonalenie procesów i wyrobu. Ma on także na celu wskazanie metody lub grupy metod najbardziej przydatnej do oceny przedsiębiorstwa funkcjonującego w ramach formalnego systemu zarządzania jakością.

Model MBNQA, Deming Prize i EQA stały się wzorcem dla tworzenia krajowych programów promujących wdrażanie zasad kompleksowego zarządzania jakością.

The introductory part of the article presents the three most reputable quality award schemes, i.e. Deming Prize, Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and European Quality Award. The article goes on to discuss the results of analysing the solutions as applied in several dozen of selected countries around the globe in the context of the impact exerted by the three above-mentioned quality award schemes upon the development and functioning of national quality awards.

The International Quality School, organized second time in Warsaw under the patronage of Polish deputy prime minister, invited the winners of the EQA (European Quality Award). The additional participation of Japaneses, many experiences and opinions based on American achievements, endowed really the worldwide dimension of the meetings. The description of all presentations, with the most important conclusions or indications, ore the context of that elaboration. The production sector, services and administration, ore the objects of considerations in very concrete and practical approaches, where the theory, progressive reflexions and consequence executed, permited to achieve oppriopriate level of programmed goals. The overcoming of difficulties, mentality problems or many other complicated situations, appearing during the implementation of changes, demonstrate the similar possibilities in action and success for everyone. It presents this paper.
