European Union food law regulations are a base of all food safety management systems developed on obligatory HACCP principles and GMPs/GHPs. A scope of numerous UE directives, regulations of the European Parliament and of the Coundl as well as regulations of the Commission of the European Community refers to different aspects of food raw materials production, food processing and foodstuffs retailing. In article some legislations acts constituting fundamentals of the UE food law are presented. Moreover, main regulations arę described relating to cheimcal and biological food contaminants, food contacting materials, genetically modified foods, food additives, radiation treatment and food wastes, which may be applied during implementation ofthe food safety management systems.
