This article examines customs and border systems at the external border of the European Union (EU), with particular focus on the Medyka border crossing. The research is based on an analysis of legal documents, statistical data and literature, as well as an assessment of modern risk analysis and automated document verification systems. Special attention is paid to the role of customs policies in facilitating cross-border trade while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.
