Oba zespoły budynków miały konstrukcję projektowaną przez tych samych konstruktorów, na których współpracę zawsze można było liczyć podczas realizacji inwestycji. Wykonywanie robót budowlanych w rewitalizowanych obiektach MOCAK i Cricoteki było związane z częstym rozwiązywaniem dodatkowych problemów konstrukcyjnych. Podobnie, ze względu na wykonanie w ramach budowy głębokich wykopów w terenie zabudowanym, wymagany był udział konstruktorów w prowadzonej w sposób ciągły przez kierownika budowy i inspektora nadzoru analizie wyników geodezyjnych osiadań budynków i budowli, będących w strefie oddziaływania głębokich wykopów. Istotne było na wstępnym etapie określenie przez konstruktorów przemieszczeń dla poszczególnych obiektów. Hydroizolacja z mat bentonitowych, pozwalająca na aplikację praktycznie niezależnie od warunków atmosferycznych i wilgotności podłoża, wymagała jednak miejscami uciążliwych prac w celu przygotowania podłoża o właściwej geometrii.

Both building complexes had their structural design developed by the same engineers, who were always willing to cooperate during realization of the investment. Performing construction works in revitalized MOCAK and Cricoteka facilities frequently meant solving additional structural problems. Similarly, due to deep excavations in a built-up area carried out as part of the construction process, the engineers were required to participate in analysis of geodetic results of subsidence of buildings and constructions located in the impact zone of deep excavations. Such analysis was conducted in a continuous manner by the construction manager and by the civil engineering work supervision inspector. At the initial stage it was essential for the constructors to determine movements for different facilities. Hydro-insulation with bentonite mats, allowing for application virtually regardless of atmospheric conditions and ground moisture, nevertheless required resource-consuming works to be performed, in order to prepare the ground with adequate geometry.

The introduction of a new museum space in the vicinity of the relics of the past is associated with the erection of modern conceptual architectural monuments. The stronger the contrast between the old and the new, the stronger the expression of the work on the environment. The author undertakes an analysis of the New Cricoteka in Krakow as an example of architecture that represents, collects, and that is art – a game, an intellectual dialogue, a spectacle engaging the viewer into the action.

Wprowadzenie nowych przestrzeni muzealnych w sąsiedztwie reliktów przeszłości wiąże się ze wznoszeniem współczesnych pomników architektury konceptualnej. Im silniejszy kontrast pomiędzy starym i nowym, tym silniejsza ekspresja dzieła na otoczenie. Autorka artykułu podjęła analizę Nowej Cricoteki w Krakowie jako przykład architektury reprezentującej, gromadzącej oraz będącej sztuką – grą i zabawą, dialogiem intelektualnym, spektaklem wciągającym widza w głąb akcji.

Cricoteka, mimo wielu trudności podczas jej realizacji, stanowi dziś jeden z ciekawszych punktów do zwiedzania. Jej rozmach pokazuje, że należy szukać innowacyjnych i ciekawych rozwiązań, a często to, co wydaje się niemożliwe do wykonania, w późniejszym czasie staje się realne i osiągalne.

As a result of the revitalization of the old buildings of the former power plant area of Krakow Podgórze a multifunctional object providing city with a cultural institution called Cricoteka – Cantor Arts Documentation Center is being created. The paper presents the genesis of the construction of the Centre and the description of the project with a very interesting design solutions and material. Observation of the investment shows what problems occurred during the building of investments realized in terms of increased risk and uncertainty of the project undertaken. The collected material was allowed to analyze the source of the delays and costs of investments financed with public funds. The authors suggest the desirability of the use of methods that take into account the risks arising on such investments, financed from public funds and risk management.

Artykuł przedstawia genezę budowy ośrodka i opis projektu z bardzo interesującymi rozwiązaniami konstrukcyjnymi i materiałowymi.
