Artykuł ma charakter polemiczny. Dotyczy związków, jakie występują pomiędzy bezpieczeństwem, zagrożeniami i kryzysami. Wśród wielu zagadnień autor eksponuje problem bezpieczeństwa ekologicznego i zagrożeń, także ekologicznych, które wpływają negatywnie na jego (bezpieczeństwa ekologicznego) stan i możliwości zapewnienia. Wszystko to uczynione zostało w kontekście roli i znaczenia postanowień obowiązującej Konwencji o Zakazie Broni Chemicznej oraz tzw. prawa obronnego. Autor podkreśla, że są one (Konwencja i prawo obronne) istotnym warunkiem utrzymania, w miarę stabilnego, stanu bezpieczeństwa. Do Konwencji o zakazie broni chemicznej odnosi się także krytycznie, wskazuje na potrzebę dokonania określonych zmian, zwłaszcza dotyczących jej tytułu, który jest mylący oraz treści tego dokumentu. Jak twierdzi – nie przystają one do warunków współczesnych i roli, jaką Konwencja ma spełnić w przyszłości.

The article is a polemic pertaining to relations that occur between security, threats and crises. Among many topics the author exposes the problem of ecological safety and hazards, including environmental ones, which have a negative impact on the environmental safety condition and the ability to ensure it. All this was done in the context of the role and importance of the provisions in force of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and so called right of defense. The author stresses that both the Convention and the right of defense, are an essential prerequisite for maintaining a relatively stable, secure situation. He also refers critically to the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, pointing to the need to make certain changes, particularly concerning its title, which is misleading, as well to the content of this document. The author claims that they both do not fit to the contemporary conditions and the role that the Convention will fulfill in the future.
